The eighth grade students (audience) will identify and use (behavior) all of the words
about friendship which are covered in the first week (degree) when it is asked them to
discuss orally and write about the concept of friendship in a short essay. (condition)

and Materials)]
A video which consists of pictures and quotes about friendship to create discussion
A concept map to make brainstorm about friendship by using related vocabulary to it in
the first class
Learning-Teaching Methods [ASSURE (Select Strategies, Technology, Media and
Materials)]
As general, Eclectic method will be used in this lesson but mostly direct method in
concept map and communicative language teaching via discussion will be used.
Teaching Activities [ASSURE (Utilize Technology, Media, and Materials and
Require Learner Participation)]
First, the students will watch a video about friendship and then they will discuss about
what a true friendship is and what the criteria to be best friend are in groups for five
students.
Second, the teacher wants the students to make brainstorm about friendship by showing
them related vocabulary to the subject in a concept map, then s/he wants them to write
a short essay about friendship individually by using knowledge via the concept map and
the explanations of the teacher.

Discussing about what a true friendship is


and what the criteria to be best friend are in
groups for five students.

Summary
Brainstorming about friendship in a concept map and writing about it; watching a video
about friendship and then discussing about what a true friendship is and what the
criteria to be best friend are in groups for five students are the major aims of the class.
Measurement & Evaluation
The short essay written by students individually after brainstorming will be evaluated in
term of the organization of paragraphs, using of English and accuracy of the content.
In the discussion about what a true friendship is and what the criteria to be best friend
are in groups for five students are, it is necessary to make comments and to share their
ideas about the topic for all students in their groups.

In the discussion, the teacher will ignore the mistakes during the class but s/he will
correct them later.
Explanation regarding to the implementation of the plan
If there are any problems while connecting to the net, the teacher will distribute the
hard-copies of both the concept map and the pictures, texts and quotes in the video.
