The study investigated the common errors in written composition of ESGP-PA grantees

of Philippine Normal University Mindanao; respondents are the 46 ESGP-PA grantees


and were given formal writing test-- composed of 5 prompts from which the respondents
will choose their one desired topic and write a 100-150 word essay about it. The
researchers were opted to use some statistical treatments which answered the problems in
this study. Moreover, crosstabs were used in classifying the profile of the respondents.
The study concluded that the respondents have great difficulties in written composition in
English, it suggested that the teachers must give more focus on the instructions in the
different levels of formal writing and on teaching the basic rules of grammar.

ng mga tagatanggap ng ESGP-PA sa Pamantasang Normal ng Pilipinas sa Mindanao


(Philippine Normal University Mindanao); ang mga nakilahok ay ang apatnaput anim
(46) na mga tagatanggap ng ESGP-PA na siyang binigyan at sumagot sa pormal na
pasulit sa pagsulat kabilang dito ang limang (5) prompts kung saan pipili ang mga
sasagot ng isang naibigan nilang paksa saka susulat ng may isang daan hanggang isang
daan at limampung salitang sanaysay patungkol dito. Ang mga nag- aaral/nagsusuri ay
piniling gumamit ng mga Statistical treatments na tunay na nakasagot sa mga
katanungan. Ang bilang at porsyento ay ginamit para sa pagtuklas ng profile ng mga
partisepante. Tinuldukan ng pag-aaral na ito na ang mga nasabing partisepante ay may
malaking problema sa pagsulat sa Ingles, itoy nagmumungkahi na ang mga guro ay
magbigay ng pokus sa kanilang pagtuturo sa ibat ibang antas sa pormal na pagsulat, at sa
pagtuturo ng mga pangunahing tuntunin sa balarila.
