1. Assessment Results: (What were the results/effect on student learning of the
teaching activity? Align with your activities and objectives).
I informally assessed Derwin after the lesson to see if he was able to recall the sight
words within the stories. I also asked Derwin to go over the spelling of the words
together.
2. Reflection of Overall Lesson:
In this lesson Derwin and I read several different types of books, ranging from a
textbook to comic books. While we were working on these books, I would read
the books out loud to Derwin, and then he would read a page out loud to me. We
continued this, and while doing this I asked Derwin to point out sight words. Once
he found sight words we would write them on the board and use the word in a
different sentence. Spiderman, Batman and a textbook on insects.

3. Reflect on the strategies or methods that were used.


We used a word wall, and I asked Derwin to use the strategies hes been learning
throughout these tutoring sessions. He sounded out the words, and used context
clues to figure out the meanings.
4. Other Issues and/or Questions/Comments:
Derwin really enjoyed our last meeting together, and we both had a blast reading
about insects and Spiderman & Iron man!

Cultural I have not observed any cultural, ethnic, or racial issues in my tutee.
Dialect- I have observed my tutee has a different way of pronouncing words than
I do. I as well have realized that I pronounce certain words different than my
colleagues.
Health- I am not aware of any health issues from my student.
Learning Styles/Disabilities/Exceptionalities I am not aware of any
exceptionalities from this student.
Socioeconomic This student is from a single-parent home.
