Abstract
Briquettes also known as Bio coal is compressed form of loose biomass
(Agricultural and forest waste). It has Higher Calorific value; Burns Completely
thus emits lesser Air Pollution. IT Can Be used in Boilers, Furnaces, Sugar Plants,
Chemical Industries, Dyeing industries, Food Processing, Oil Extraction & Other
Domestic and commercial purposes.
Fuel is prime need of every industry & pollution free environment is the prime
concern of society. This renewable energy project is ideal for the agricultural based
countries like India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and African countries as there are a huge
availability of agro-forestry waste. And its Demand is very good in industrial based
countries. It is the best project to generate revenue from agro-forestry waste, save
the Global environment and to produce green energy.
This project is act as "Renewable energy from waste." It gives us the Bio-coal from
the wastages like Agro, Forestry & Industrial. The Wastages from these sources are
raw material of this project and the finished product is called Briquettes. Main
concept of this project is to produce the bio-coal from the agro & forest wastages
which otherwise is either destroyed or burnt inefficiently in loose form causing air
pollution. We cannot destroy the wastages totally. But we can use it as renewable
source of energy by converting biomass waste into high density - fuel briquettes
with the help of Briquetting Plant and produce the Briquettes, which ultimately
produce the energy. We can say that "To provide Pollution free energy in low cost
is the main concept of the project."
This project converts low-density biomass into high-density biomass fuel that is
called Briquettes/Bio-coal or white-coal. Briquettes are made from agricultural or
forestry waste, which can effectively, used as best substitute of any fossil fuels
[Coal or Wood] and can easily use various kinds of thermal applications.
The viability of manufacturing briquettes is tremendous as the demand of energy
is increasing day by day and vise versa the supply of natural fossil fuel is limited.
Moreover government of India has also announced series of incentives for
promoting this project for installing Briquetting plants as the entire world is
engaged in developing alternative energy source. It is promoted to the Industries as
a prime renewable energy project throughout the world. The project gives excellent

viability. It is pollution free and no hazard in this project. It is eco friendly

renewable green energy project.
The press is filled with a mash of burnable materials which are compressed into
small bricks. Once dried, these bricks can be burned for fuel. The press is easy to
assemble and take apart for convenient storage and transport.

system is controlled by a P.I.C. (programmable logic controller) which keeps all

the rams in the correct sequence and optimizes the motor power by operating a
sequence of valves to reduce the oil flow as the pressure increases on each cycle.
Combined with the inherently efficient design described earlier, these results in a
very low motor power for a given output compared with other briquetting
machines. The electronic control can maintain a constant briquette size despite
variations in the materials. Particle size can be anything up to 50 mm, and for long
fibrous materials a ram feeder is an optional extra.
