History of Internet Caf

The honor of being recorded in history as the worlds first Internet caf
belongs to Caf Cyberia which opened in London, England in September 1, 1994.
Caf Cyberia was founded by Eva Pascoe who got the business idea of serving
coffee to customers who are surfing the web while sitting at a coffee shop near the
City University of London where she was taking her PHD degree. She started Cafe
Cyberia with half a dozen (6) HP computers which are connected to the Internet
through dial-up modems that were able to transfer rate of 9.6 kilobits of data per
second.
Cafe Cyberia became very famous for being the first Internet cafe and it attracted
additional investments for its expansion from the likes of Mick Jagger of the Rolling
Stones band and Maurice Saatchi, a famous British advertising executive. With the
success of Cafe Cyberia, the Internet Cafe business got into a fast start and the
number grew to over 60 similar cafes all over the world by the middle of 1995.
Ms. Eva Pascoe did not stay long in the Internet caf business and she sold her
stake in Cafe Cyberia to three (3) Korean investors in 1998. She moved and
engaged on another field of online business, the fashion e-commerce.
The original Cafe Cyberia can still be found in Londons West End at Whitfield St.,
behind Goodge St. train station. The caf was renamed Be the Reds by the new
Korean owners. Be the Reds is a bastardized version of beat the reds which is a
popular cheer for the South Korean national soccer team.
In the Philippines, there is no actual written record of who founded the first Internet
caf in the country. In one of the meetings I had with the early Internet caf owners
in attendance, almost all agreed that the first computer rental shop with Internet
access started sometime in 1998 in Quiapo, Manila using 486 PC clones. They could
be wrong though so anyone with proof of existence of an Internet caf earlier than
1998 can please come forward and set the record straight.
More on the history of Internet cafe and how it transformed from an obviously
educational business model of old to its current computer gaming craze in my
coming blogs. Wait for them.
Computer shop business is one of the most in demand businesses here in City Of
San Pedro. Nowadays, internet cafes are really in demand because of the fast
changing technology that the people embraced just like here in the Philippines.
Some have their own laptops and bring it to coffee shops so that they could
relax and at the same time prepare their assignments and paper works. The people
today are very busy and would want to do their jobs in a beautiful and innovative
environment that could satisfy their needs and lessen their stress due to busy
schedule.
Name of the Firm
The proposed name of the firm is XAVIER COMPUTER SHOP. The owner will
register the firm with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and Local
Government Unit (LGU) concerned. The firm will be registered as single
proprietorship. The business is about computer shop.
Location

The business will be renting a space along Hi-way near to Government Office, and
schools. The target consumers are students, teachers, office workers, and nearby
neighborhood especially those people whose relatives or loved ones are abroad. The
two hundred (200) meter radius requirements as provided in the existing zoning
code and other applicable rules and regulations wherein computer shops and other
similar establishments and places of amusements should be put up or constructed
at least two hundred (200) meters away from the church, schools, hospitals
and other government offices shall be strictly complied with.
Long Range Objectives of the Project
The Xavier Computer Shop looks forward to be the most competitive shop in City Of
San Pedro and nearby towns of Laguna. The proponent dreams of making profit and
staying long in the business.
For operating and establishing XAVIER COMPUTER SHOP, I am having
some objectives.
1. To earn profit at less investments.
2. To satisfy our customers providing best quality service at effective price.
3. Providing the service at low cost by providing the best quality at affordable
price.
4. To know a fair return on the capital invested by the owner.

The following are the most important criteria by which almost every subject is
beingmeasured:

man in putting up a business. Whether he will produce the money by his own
pocket or he will have a business loan in a bank
2 Recognize profit from the business the main reason of a person for going
into business is profit. People tend to enter into this kind of business because
of their expectation to earn money or have an income.
3. It helps the economic growth of the area this company will give a job
opportunity to the resident of San Pedro.
4. Enhance the availability of the company the company will become stable
if it has the ability to compete to his competitor and ability to continue
operations yet there is expected risks in a business.

To penetrate the target market, different marketing strategies and promotions
will be considered. Leaflets will be distributed and handed out to various business
establishments, offices, schools, bus and jeepney stations, friends, and relatives.
Games and services offered will be displayed on the store window. I will offer
promos to attract the consumer like cheaper rate for computer rental, and
membership card. I will put a tarpaulin on the place itself where my shop is
standing, promoting the opening of my computer shop also one month before the
opening. To let the people know that there will be a new Computer Shop on the
vicinity. Lastly, I will keep developing my skills by attending seminars to improve my
knowledge and to be updated in this business.

The Xavier Computer Shop will provide the product and services to the
customers, and then the customer will give income or profit to Xavier Computer
Shop in return. The income or profit that the customer gave in return will used to
provide the product and services.

Computer Shop opens at8:00 am ahead to the other competitors. This will lead my

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

This study shows the whole information about the firm Xavier Computer
Shop. It includes the history, demand and supply, structure of the branch, etc It
demonstrated that the management believed that its employees and the services
provided are its best asset. The study proved that the employees are responding to
the call of every customer. This defined the character and the ability of the
researcher to adapt the changes and the demand each day.
The study showcased the learning that the researcher has gained through.
This is also a way to impress others by advertising it through showing his study. The
resources and products weve marketing reflected on the study. This highlighted the
ability of each personnel to systematically deal with the problems that are
confronting them. The significance is to show the management copes with the high
demand of its customers.
The study resulted to the simplification of starting a business and delivering it
to success. With the improved technology today, there is more chance to have this
business. New method and insights to all concerning with the personnel gave them
the opportunity to gain expertise.
This gave the researcher the opportunity to prove into and solve challenging
problems. It also serves as a future references for those who will take the similar
study.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

The study focuses on the services provided by the management and knows
the reaction of the customers with regards to the service rendered to them. The
researcher interviews 20 respondents and is in different ages. All of them are
requested to answer the given questionnaire based on how they experienced our
services. By conducting the survey, it helps the research to prove what the
shortcoming are and how successful the business is since it just started in 2004.
This feasibility study helps the researcher to enhance his communication
skills and have a chance to meet of the customers.

General Ways of Motivating people

Workers should be motivated as well as the customer. There are different
factors on how can they be motivated; here are some:

a. Motivated by Fame
Money and respect is the basic motivation in business. For the employees,
salary should not be delayed and must be based on their performance and I
will always have respect on them because they performance for my customer
is good. As the owner, I will offer them an increase and additional payment
during special holidays. For the customer, they will be motivated to visit my
shop by its affordable price with its convenient services.
b. Motivated by Enticement
Like money, another way of motivating workers is by enticing them. The
owner may promise to his subordinates a gift as a reward for his/her excellent
performance. The owner would also give them recognition by giving a
certificates and posting it on the shop. Enticing them would make them loyal
to me at and be more productive and have some initiative to do assigned
task.
c. Motivation by identification in Ego involvement
Workers would have self satisfaction if they will be recognizing by
recognizing by including them in the success of a particular task. It should not
be done because they just want it but because they deserve to have it.

Influence Job Satisfaction

a. Opportunity
Opportunity cannot be only experienced by the owner but also with the
employees and

customers. First the management will always accept opportunity if it shall be

given to us, like if were requested to conduct a computer related contest, we
will do so.
My parents said to me that opportunity is just around, and if it comes,
take it and it shall benefits you and if not, it just fine for at least youve
experience it.
b. Stress
We all experience it and all enrolled to it. But it will not be much
affective if the enrolled
person to it should know to handle it. As the owner I will think carefully about
my decision to not regret it, and I will focusing on a particular task like
managing money and try to have solution for a problem; I will make sure it
wont last for many days so that I can avoid experiencing stress.
c. Leadership
Workers will be much appreciative in accepting job if their boss is so
eager to do so. A leader must be a model to his subordinate. He must show
everything he got. A leader must always consider his people and their ideas
for better results. A leader must always have a respect for their employees.
He is the one who should lead and do actions to resolve a problem in a way
that no one will be dissent.
d. Work Standards
For the owner, he must give all his efforts and all his abilities on his
task. He should not always ask his subordinates, instead he must have work
with high standards so that employees will do the same.
Xavier Computer Shop provides the best working standards which can
be found by our employees. We will make sure that no one would refuse to go
to our shop.
e. Rewards
Everyone deserves to have a reward. As the owner I shall introduce my
employees to receive a reward if they have to. It shall be based on their
works or performance and extension of working hours. As well as the
customer, they should also be given rewards by winning my tournament and
they will get free hours in special holidays like Christmas.

Xavier Computer Shop is the best access shop for computer users. The name
Xavier is just came up into my mind and it catch my satisfaction so I decided to
make it my codename and I just add the computer shop in it. The shop is located at
Brgy. United Bayanihan, City Of San Pedro near the hall which will provide the
costumers more than they expect. We offer hand-in-hand service and provide
satisfaction by rending the excellent performance. Furthermore, we make sure that
the shop will meet its objectives and develops for better results and come out for
more branches.
The business assets are the personnel and the shop itself. It has lavatory
inside which cannot be found by others and sofas for the customers while waiting
for a unit. We also offering promos during holidays so that customers would enjoy
and continue to love our shop. Were advertising it by posting some tarpaulins
within the community and of course in front of the shop. The management will make
this venture successful and profitable. Our goal will not stop but continue as this
industry grows. Well be focusing and work step-by-step to reach and achieve
success. The management will consistency make the goal worthwhile and be
exceeding on our expectations and so with the customers. The target market will
