January 24 during the school day. The cost will be covered by the school.
Finally, a practice ACT test opportunity will be provided for any interested

HLPUSD LCAP Survey
The Hacienda La Puente Unified School District is surveying parents, staff members and community members to learn
about your perceptions and experiences with HLPUSD. Specifically, we hope to gather feedback on the districts Local
Control and Accountability (LCAP) goals, such as current performance, areas for improvement and future goals. Your
responses are completely anonymous and will be kept strictly confidential, so please be as open and honest as possible. The
survey should take approximately 10 minutes to complete. Your feedback is essential, and will help HLPUSD improve
programs and services to students, families, employees, and community members.

Rio Hondo Classes @ Willow Campus
The Willow Campus at HLP Adult School is a satellite campus for Rio Hondo
Community College. Several Rio Hondo college classes will be offered at the
Willow Campus. High school students are able to take the course for free, while
earning college credits. There are no prerequisites. Interested students may
speak with their counselor. Last day to enroll is February 8, 2017.
The following Rio Hondo courses will be offered at Willow.

Seniors: 2017-2018 Financial Aid Applications

Seniors who plan to pursue higher education after high school should submit a
free financial aid application, in order to determine eligibility for financial aid.
Which application to fill out? There are two types of free financial aid
applications available - FAFSA or the CA DREAM Application. Only one of the two
applications should be submitted; not both! If you are unsure which one to fill
out, please speak with your childs Counselor.
FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid): https://fafsa.ed.gov/
Students who are U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens (have green
card") can apply with the FAFSA. This is a free application.
CA DREAM Act: http://dream.csac.ca.gov
AB540 students (undocumented students) can apply using the CA
DREAM Act Application. This is a free application.
CSS Profile: http://css.collegeboard.org/
Some private colleges/universities require the CSS Profile in addition to
the FAFSA. Only submit, if required.

Seniors: CSU Conditionally Ready in Math

There is a new way for Conditionally Ready seniors to satisfy the CSU Math requirement, if they are not taking a math class
in 12th grade. Students can take an online class and if they pass, can avoid taking the Math Placement Test (ELM) for the CSU
