Institute of Technology Durgapur, hereby give an undertaking for the following clauses during my stay at the
Institute.
1. I shall abide by the admissible rules and regulations of NIT Durgapur and follow the code of conduct
for students. I acknowledge that the Institute has the authority of taking disciplinary action against me for
non-compliance of the same.
2. That I understand the meaning of Ragging and know that the ragging in any form is a punishable offence
and the same is banned by the honourable Supreme Court of Law. I understand that, in case I am
found to be involved in ragging, the case will be reported to the police and the law will take its own
course and I will be summarily expelled from the Institute.
3. That I have not been found or charged for my involvement in any kind of ragging in the past.
However, I undertake to face disciplinary action/legal proceedings including expulsion from the Institute if
the above statement is found to be untrue or the facts are concealed, at any stage in future.
4. That I shall not resort to ragging in any form at any place and shall abide by the rules/laws
prescribed by the Courts, Government of India and the Institute authorities for the purpose from time to
time.
5. I understand that as per rules and regulations of the Institute, I will not be permitted to possess or use any
motorised vehicle (two or four wheelers) inside the Institute/Hostel campus.
6. In the event of my involvement in any activity outside the campus which is punishable by the law of the
land, the Institute shall in no way provide any support to me and will be not be responsible either for my
action.
7. I understand that if I am found to be associated with the activities of breaking any electrical
arrangements viz tubes, bulbs, fans, televisions and furniture such as cots, tables, chairs and almirahs, IT
equipments like LAN etc and any other government properties. I will be ready to accept the punishment
decided by the disciplinary committee and pay the charges whatever decided for damaging the items.
8. I also declare that I shall fully stand by the hostel rules of dos and dont part and will not be involved
in using/consuming alcohol and drugs in any form. If found guilty.
9. Unauthorised absence/late coming to the hostel violating the stipulated time will be treated as
indisciplinary activities.
If at any stage, I am found to violate the aforesaid hostel rules, I understand very clearly that my hostel
allotment or candidature may instantly be cancelled or may be expelled from the institute without assigning
any reason.
