8th grade students will comprehend at least 70 percent of the basic structures of
preference such as would rather, prefer etc. and they will also learn to build sentences
related to the topic.
-They will also learn to use the basic structures of preference during a conversation.

Using an eclectic method, we will combine individual work with group work performed
through a role-play activity.
Teaching Activities [ASSURE (Utilize Technology, Media, and Materials and
Require Learner Participation)]
-Giving students a survey at the beginning, which can show them what they like and
what they dont like in terms of the topic food.
-Talking about students favorite foods and the foods they dont like.
-Giving grammatical structures of preference such as would rather and would prefer etc.
using a poster created on Easel.ly
-After teaching the grammatical side of the topic, teacher asks students to build various
sentences by making use of would rather and prefer.
-A conversation about their preferences give the students the opportunity to practice the
topic.
-Teacher gives a worksheet related to the grammatical side such as would rather and
prefer etc. (Grammar-translation Method)
-After finishing the worksheet, Role playing activity begins, which is a part of total
Physical Response.
-Students choose a partner and continue with the role-play activity, which is funny and
informative at the same time.

Summary
At the beginning of lesson, students make a survey, which gives them an opportunity to
understand what they like more and what they like less. Then the grammatical side of
the topic will be introduced by using a poster. After that, the students will intensify the
topic with a quiz individually. Finally, Students are supposed to execute a role-play
successfully to show what they learned.
