New Summer Happenings…

Remember our High School Youth in your prayers as they travel to Oklahoma July 9th-18th on their annual mis-
sion trip!

Summer Sunday School has started! Classes start at age 4 and go through adult. The nursery is open for infants
through age 3. Join us each Sunday at 9:45am through July 25th.

Get ready to get your hands dirty as we dig into God’s Good Green Earth—VBS 2010! We need volunteers, recy-
cled materials, items purchased and lots of prayer! Can you help? Check the bulletin and welcome centers for in-
formation or contact Rachel in the office. (Turn to page 2 for a list of items needed & workdays)

Join us for Worship All Summer
Cell phone vs. Bible Long!!
Ever wonder what would happen if we
treated our Bible like our cell-phone?? Sunday: 8:30 am—Sanctuary
What if we carried it around in our pockets/ 9:45 am—Summer Sunday
purses? School
What if we flipped through it several times
a day? 11:00 am—Sanctuary
What if we turned back to get it if we forgot
it? Wednesday: 6:30 pm—Pavilion*
What if we used it to receive messages from
text?
*FREE ICE CREAM*
What if we treated it like we couldn’t live
without it?
What if we gave it to our kids as gifts?
What if we used it when we traveled?
What if we used it in case of emergency?

Oh, and one more thing… Unlike our cell

phone, we don’t have to worry about our
bible being disconnected because Jesus al-
ready paid the bill.

• 2 liter bottles—Need 150!!!!
• Cardboard toilet paper rolls
• Cardboard paper towel rolls
• Plastic bottle caps (any kind)
• Plastic lids
• 20 oz. (or smaller) plastic bottles
• Shoeboxes
• Tissue boxes
• Cardboard boxes (recycling bins-
4’X3’)
• Paint shirts
• Old towels for craft clean up

dropped off in the
purple containers lo-
cated at either wel-
come center.

be donated are at
the sign-up center.
Other Ways to Bless VBS
• Serve as a station leader or assistant
• Serve as a shepherd that accompa-
nies a group to each station
• Act in the opening skits each night
• Help with set up & decorating on Fri-
day, August 6th
• Help with take down on Thurs. August
12th or Monday August 16th
• Help with the opening potluck on Sun-
day, August 8th at 5:00 pm
• Help Rachel with administrative tasks
& prep work
• Help with supply preparation from
home
• Workdays: July 12, August 2 at 10:00
am and July 27 at 1:30 pm

Attention Ladies: Two opportunities
from the District UMW:
Sat. July 17, School of Christian Missions,
“Faith, Hope, Love in Action”. Studies in-
clude Spiritual Growth (the three letters of
John), Geographic (Sudan) and Social Ac-
tion, “Joy to the World: Mission in the Age
of Global Christianity”.
Thurs. Sept. 9, bus trip to experience
powerful global educational opportunity
and Heifer Global Village at Howell Con-
ference Center. Experience the challenges
of hunger and poverty and be a part of the
solution. Lunch here in a most unusual
manner, then travel in the afternoon to
Baldwin Center in Pontiac to tour the ser-
vices provided to this city. More info and
registration forms for both days are at the
welcome centers.
