II. DELIVERY OF INSTRUCTION ( Inquiry-Based Learning, 7E Model Approach)
A. BEFORE THE LESSON

HOW SHOULD LEARNING BE

ASSESSED?

Recapitulation of the previous topic about Performance Task: Group Game

ecological relationships through a group
game called Connect d cut.(3minutes)

B. DURING THE LESSON

HOW SHOULD LEARNING BE

ASSESSED?

ELICIT
The teacher shows a picture of organisms in Oral recitation( One point for every
an ecosystem through a power point correct response)
presentation. Then, the students are asked
to describe the ecosystem based on its
components. (5 minutes)
ENGAGE

Unlocking of difficulties - Differentiate the

following terms based on the pictures
presented: (5minutes)
A.
B.
C.
D.

Organism/Species
Population
Community
Ecosystem

EXPLORE
Demonstrate and discuss the growth of lily
Oral recitation( One point for every
pads in the pond and its positive and
correct response)
negative effects on other organisms using
the strips of paper. ( 5 minutes)

EXPLAIN
Group Activity: Field Laboratory
The students are given 20 minutes to
perform the activity
1.Using the cut out pictures of different
organisms, design your own model of an
ecosystem.
2. Predict their population size after 5-10
Group Activity( Scores will be based on
years.
rubrics)
3.
Cite
possible
reasons
of
decrease/increase in terms of population
size.
4. Discuss its possible effects on other
organisms .
The students are given 15 minutes to do the
activity. After the time given, each group
presents their output in class.(10 minutes)

ELABORATE
The teacher processes the responses of
each group. He/She can also solicit
opinions/feedbacks from the members of the
other groups. (10 minutes)

synthesized the key concepts presented in for every correct response)
the lesson through I have, Who Has
Activity. (3 minutes)
