Re: Occupational Therapist IP Rehab Therapies
Dear _____________,
I am writing to express my interest in your open occupational therapist position listed on the _______________.
Although a recent graduate, I have been fortunate to have two, three-month rotations. Both included experience in
acute care where I was able to collaborate with professionals and multidisciplinary teams to develop meaningful clientcentered treatment plans. In those six months, I worked with a variety of patients with multiple conditions including
hip and knee replacements, CVA, cognitive deficits and other comorbidities. Through this experience and my
education, I was able to gain a great foundation to begin my career as an acute care occupational therapist.
While completing my fieldwork at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, KY, I had the opportunity to complete
many evaluations, create treatment plans, and determine discharge placement for clients. To maintain a holistic
perspective, families and patients were continuously included in rehab placement discussions and provided education
when necessary. Due to my past experiences, I am confident in my ability to tactfully communicate with patients and
their families to create a smooth rehabilitation process.
My experience and diligence paired with mentorship, supervision and guidance would make me an excellent addition
to the inpatient acute care rehab team at Salem Heath Hospital. I have enclosed my resume and will contact you next
week to see if we may find a time to speak together.
Your time and consideration are greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Matthew J. Hill, OTS
