Clariant Catalysts

for Stationary Engine

Emission Reduction

Reliable and efficient power supply has become increasingly important across the globe in recent years. State-of-the-art technologies for highly efficient power generation include gas and diesel engines as well as gas turbines and fuel cells. Emissions
from these engines can exceed the desired emission levels. In combination with catalytic emission control as a secondary
measure, regulatory emission limits can be met and even surpassed, thus reducing the impact on health and the environment.
At Clariant we have been developing and manufacturing catalysts to clean exhaust gases from combustion processes since the
early 1980s. Our strength and experience in environmental catalysts grows from our roots in Sd-Chemie. The broad portfolio of
highly innovative catalyst products is now part of the Catalysis & Energy business unit of Clariant.
Our EnviCat brand catalysts include

Oxidation Catalysts

Oxidation of CO and hydrocarbons including formaldehyde, aldehydes, PAKs, NMHCs, VOCs, TOCs
into CO2 and water in lean burn applications.
Also available: Special oxidation catalysts for the oxidation of NO to NO2

Diesel Oxidation catalyst (DOC)

Oxidation of CO and hydrocarbons including formaldehyde and acrolein with high sulfur
tolerance and low conversion of SO2 into SO3 for diesel and fuel oil applications.
Also available: Special DOC catalysts for the oxidation of NO to NO2

Three-Way Catalysts (TWC)

Oxidation of CO and hydrocarbons and the simultaneous reduction of NOx into CO2, water
and nitrogen in rich-burn applications with air-fuel-ratio control (lambda control)

Catalyzed Particulate Filters (cDPF)

Catalyzed wall-flow filters for the efficient removal of particulate matter and the
combustion of soot at low temperatures in lean-burn applications.
CARB Level 3+ and TV Verification

Selective Catalytic
Reduction Catalysts (SCR)

Reduction of NOx emissions by ammonia or urea in SCR systems in lean-burn applications.

Low, medium and high temperature variants are available

Ammonia Slip catalyst (ASC)

Oxidation of NH3 into N2 with low NOx formation.

EnviCat catalysts have been used to treat the emissions of Engines using these fuels:

EnviCat catalysts are available in a wide variety of forms and cell types. In engine emission control, either metal or ceramic
substrates are used typically in round or rectangular shapes. Our catalysts can be customized based on individual requirements. Every project is carefully reviewed by our engineers to ensure that the catalyst design meets or exceeds the required
emission reduction and engine performance.
We have supplied catalysts for engines from 10kW (15 bhp) up to power stations installations of more than 100 MW.
In close cooperation with many of our customers, we have developed and defined standardized solutions to meet their needs
for new installations, for retrofit purposes and for replacements.
EnviCat catalysts have been installed to treat the emissions of stationary engines of many brands including: Caterpillar,
Cooper Bessemer, Cummins, Daihatsu, Doosan, EMD, Fairbanks Morse, GE Jenbacher, Grupo Guascor, John Deere, Kohler,
Liebherr, MAN, Mercedes Benz, Mitsubishi, MTU, MWM, Perkins, Rolls-Royce, Scania, Schnell, Tedom, Volvo Penta,
Wrtsil, Waukesha.
We supply our EnviCat catalysts with housings for easy on-site installation. Please refer to our housing brochure for details.
