1. What is meant by hybridization? Predict the hybridization of the central atom in PCl5
molecule.
2. Give the chemical reactions that take place when an automobile airbag is inflated.
3. Write any two statements for second law of thermodynamics.
4. Five moles of an ideal gas expand reversibly from a temperature of 50C and pressure of
760 mm Hg to a temperature of 25C and pressure of 380 mm Hg. Calculate S for the
process, assuming that Cv= R.
5. State the Henrys law and write the factors affecting solubility of gases in liquid solvents.
6. What is meant by an azeotropic mixture? Give the phase diagram of low boiling
azeotropic mixtures.
7. Write the application of BET adsorption isotherm.
8. What is meant by critical micelle concentration?
