I worked as a camp counselor for three months each summer of 20013-2015 coaching tennis.

I was a nanny for a family with two children summer of 2015 and 2016

Interdisciplinary Liberal Studies Major, Elementary Education Minor

I am a Junior pursuing an undergraduate degree in Interdisciplinary Liberal Studies with a minor in
Elementary Education. On the five year program track to get my Masters of Education.
Internship
Completed an internship my Senior year of high school in a first grade classroom.

working with a first grade teacher

VOLUNTEER SERVICE
Czech Republic: My high school senior year summer I was chosen from the youth of my church to
go to the the Czech Republic to teach English. A small group of us led an English camp which
involved planning a week's worth of activities and games that taught English.
Church: Assistant Sunday School teacher and volunteer in church nursery
Overcoming Barriers: I volunteered once a week in an Adapted Physical Education class at a local
elementary school. We completed activities that helped the children with special needs develop
and practice their gross motor skills.
P.A.W.S.: Volunteer for JMU open houses, large visitation days, CHOICES, scholarship banquets, and
other admissions department events. Includes 20 required service hours each year.
FSL Alternative Spring Break: I was part of a group of students involved in Greek life at JMU that
volunteered in New Orleans, LA spring break of 2016. We worked with an organization, Camp
Restore, and did various service work mostly to aid victims of poverty and Hurricane Katrina.
Volunteered at a food pantry, charter school, and a horse rescue ranch and education center for
disadvantaged youth. We also completed educational activities on the culture of New Orleans and
Hurricane Katrina, seeing the lasting effects of the hurricane first hand.
