Description of how to implement in the class: The teacher will introduce Eleanor Roosevelt
using a video from BrainPop. As a hook the student will ask Who is Eleanor Roosevelt?. The
students will watch the BrainPop video and think of two important facts about Eleanor Roosevelt.
The students will share the things they remember from the video. We will go back and watch the
video again for review. The goal is to receive one idea from every student in the classroom.
Student will pick one of the ideas they like most about Eleanor Roosevelt and as a class, we will
create a podcast. Every student will get a chance to record their thoughts on the topic. The podcast
will be uploaded to our class blog. As and extension, students will pick one of the other persons of
interest. Either as a team or individually, they will research their selected person of interest and
create their own podcasts to upload to the class blog.
