COMELEC to resume voters registration on Nov.

DIPOLOG CITY, Nov. 2 (PIA) The Commission on Election (COMELEC) has
announced that voters registration for Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan
(SK) Elections will resume starting November 7, 2016 until April 29, 2017
pursuant to COMELEC Resolution No. 10166.
It emphasized that registration period will include Saturdays and Holidays
except on December 24-25, 2016 and April 13-14, 2017.
It is to be noted that on October 15, 2016, President Rodrigo R. Duterte has
signed Republic Act No. 10923 on the postponement of the 2016 SK and
Barangay Election.
There will be hold over for all incumbent barangay officials who shall remain
in office until their successors shall have been duly elected and qualified
unless they are sooner removed or suspended for cause.
Meanwhile, the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) has
reminded the public about a scam circulating that a certain group of
swindlers were accepting nominees for officer-in-charge of Barangay
Chairman and they are soliciting money for that purpose.
There will be no registration during the period of 120 days before a regular
