If you are made the campaign leader for a particular

political party, how will you use your leadership skills to
motivate your party men to ensure success of the party
nominee in the elections? (Focus on the individual, motivate
and apply leadership style).
Leadership is a group phenomenon. Its an influence process; that is to say,
intentional influence is exerted by the leader over followers. Its the
behaviour of an individual when he/she is directing the activities of a group
toward a shared goal. It is interpersonal influence, exercised in a situation,
and directed, through the communication process, toward the attainment of
a specified goal. Leadership is a process wherein one person influences
other members towards achievement of a particular goal. A good leader
should be adaptable to all situations, aggressive and also assertive at the
same time, dominant, independent, intelligent, knowledgeable, fluent in
speech, co-operative, a good administrator, sociable and diplomatic in
nature.
As an election campaign leader one needs to look into the group of
individuals we have at hand very keenly. Each individual owns different
attitude, behaviourisms and pre-disposition to act in a given situation. As a
leader one needs to know what kind of personnel we have at hand and what
ways should be adapted to keep the group in harmony and motivate them to
strive hard for the achievement of our desired goal of success in the
elections.
Motivation plays an important role in the achievement of goals. It is defined
as the willingness to exert high levels of effort towards organizational goals,
conditioned by the efforts ability to satisfy individual need.
As a campaign leader one should be on the lookout of the groups ideology
and effort efficiency. We should make sure that the success of our nominee

in the elections is the one and only agenda which runs in each and every
individuals head. A conflict in the existing ideology may give raise in
differences and groupism within the party. As an effective leader one should
first accomplish the goal of clearing the path of success of any obstacles
and make the path easy to travel. Conflicts and obstacles should be cleared
and a new set of individuals should be grouped in to make sure that the
removed obstacles do not re-enter.
A good leader should be directive, one should tell the subordinates what,
when, how, to do things. This helps in showing a clear way to all in a group
towards the desired goal. A leader should also be supportive and show
interest in the ideas or opinions put forth by the group. As a leader one
should be participative and involve each and every soul present in striving
to achieve the required goal. With an achievement oriented ideology set and
followed the goal of ensuring success of our party nominee in the election is
definitely possible and will be surely done.
