Introduction: Welcome to Introduction to Mobile Learning PD.

The aim of this course is to


explore and experience, in first-hand, the powerful potential of a mobile learning environment.
This course provides an overview of research regarding mobile learning, the trends, instructional
design strategies for professional development as well as curriculum integration and other
training contexts. In this course, we blend the theory and practice of mobile learning tools. This
course lays out a firm foundation for mobile learning practitioners and enthusiasts to create,
develop and implement mobile learning.
Learning Objectives:
1. Learners will evaluate the powerful potential of mobile learning in education by
analyzing the existing research on mobile learning and its challenges.
2. Learners will analyze the applicability and effectiveness of the existing solutions,
strategies, and technologies of mobile learning on students own environments or other
case studies.
3. Learners will identify the educational contexts for which mobile earning approach and
strategies can be more appropriate.
4. Learners will develop the best strategies in integrating the teaching theories and existing
learning and at the same time recognizing the nuances surrounding pedagogical issues of
mobile learning.
5. Learners will analyze the ethical implications surrounding the design and curriculum
integration of mobile learning.
6. Learners will synthesize different varieties of instructional design models and they will
also describe their applicability in mobile learning design platform.
7. Learners will discuss common criticism and controversies surrounding the adaptation of
mobile learning.
Desired results:
1. Learners will be able to understand basic concepts of mobile learning and the current
trends in education.
2. Learners will be able to choose and use the best applications that will suit their learning
activities while at the same time following best practices.
3. Learners will improve their digital skills and competencies and they will be able to
collaborate with others by using mobile learning platforms.

4. Learners will be able to have continuous access to primary mobile earning resources
5. Learners will design their learning assessment activities using mobile technologies.

Audience: This course is meant for teachers and instructors, at my school who may or may not
have an insight about mobile learning.
