problems that have resurfaced. As a whole class we are having problems giving respect to speakers and presenters who are addressing the group; whether in our classroom, the computer lab, library, etc. I am working on emphasizing that showing respect does not just apply to teachers, but to parent volunteers and our crewmates as well. Good behaviors are being reinforced with earning extra sand dollars and tons of positive praise, however students may come home having moved their clips down more regularly than in the past. My goal is to wean students from clipping down so that becomes less frequently seen throughout the daythis was the approach taken at the beginning of the year. MAJOR compliments to the crew on being extremely well behaved moving through the hallways this week. Our class received compliments from multiple teachers and staff members. Let s keep it up!!

Math: We are wrapping up our Measurement Unit
with a review on Monday and then the Unit Test on Tuesday. We will be turning our focus to place value and building numbers to begin our Unit 4 studies. Literacy: We will be getting new vocabulary words this week as well as a new shared reading story and will have a comprehension quiz Friday, following our usual weekly pattern. We are also going to start working more on Utah Compose to prepare students for the writing portion of the SAGE test, coming in April. As our Biography Unit comes to a close we will begin turning our writing attention to writing opinion pieces. Spelling: New spelling words coming home in the Homework Packet. I have uploaded the spelling lists onto Spelling City (www.spellingcity.com/tolbert3). Next week the spelling groups will be resorted to accommodate for the patterns students have mastered and/or need to continue working on. HOMEWORK NOTE: I will not be attaching the Sorts Page in the HW packets, however doing sorts is still an option for getting that 15-20 min. practice in. Any other preferred methods for studying spelling is definitely alright as long as the
Behavior Chatting with our neighbors has become a problem again during work time, so we are seeing more clip-downs than we d like this week.
This Weeks Class Goal:
This week we are working on freezing after an attention signal so we are ready to be active listeners.
