Specifications for Online Water Quality Analyzer System suitable for water

distribution network.
The devise shall be suitable for Qatar climate and shall be installed inside the pump house
into a cabinet of glass front door.
The sampling pipe for each devise has to be tapped from the relevant pipe (distillate and
rising main) and laid all the way up to pump house.
Contractor should do the necessary works to bring down the temperature for both
Ambient and Process sample temperature as recommended by the manufacturer. The
range of the Water Quality Analyzer should be selected as per site condition.
All WQM digital signals shall be hardwired directly from the field not from PLC. Hence
conductivity high, turbidity high, Ph high, pH low should be sourced field.
The water quality devise has to be provided and interconnected with control system inside
the station and required to provide required readings as per Kahramaa specifications.
Method of measurement and control of chlorine and chlorine dioxide for the required water
quality analyze:
The Water Quality Equipment should monitor 7 parameters out of which the 2 parameters
of Free Residual Chlorine and Chlorine Dioxide shall be done as below:
a. The Chlorine dioxide shall be measured using the amperiometric method with an online
analyzer specifically for analyzing Chlorine dioxide.
b. DPD online analyzer to measure the free residual chlorine.
c. The signals of both the analyzers shall be hardwired and made available in local
SCADA and PLC / Mimic /LED Screens/ CD / NWCC.
d. It is recommended to have both the analyzers from the same manufacturer for easy
maintenance.

side. This is to avoid contamination and plugging of the particulate presence in the
sample. Supplied transmitter should be capable of handling this flushing operation, the
timing can be decided at customer end based on the particulate level in the sample.
