The baobab seed oil has a nearly perfect balance of palmitic acid,
oleic and linoleic fatty acid, making it ideal skin for cosmetics. Its
color is light yellow and it has a sleazy nutty smell.

Baobab Project
Who we are
In essence we are currently 4 people who share their passion for baobabs and the Madagascan extraordinary nature. We are the
founders of the NGO Pink Forest who is running the Baobab Project. We are committed to protect and valorize this amazing tree: Emeric
Creuse (Project Manager), Vincent Verra (Marketing and communication), Stephane Pelayo (Illustrator and designer) and Sebastien
Wohlhauser (Scientific advisor). We all live in Madagascar since many years and we have professional experiences and complementary
skills to make the baobab project a success.
Our vision is to implement profitable business strategy that combine innovative scientific methods to valorize the Madagascan flora
biodiversity with high social and environment impact. We are devoted to safeguards threatened forest ecosystems and traditions by
giving them mass-market appeal. The baobab project is the first step of a long journey! Join us!
In addition, we work with another handful of people and different organizations and companies who help with various tasks and supports.
Thank you so much to all of them !
Our parteners
The impact
Madagascan forests are under strong human pressure, and are likely to disappear even before having been fully studied. Indeed,
250,000 hectares of Madagascan forests disappear every year which means that if this pace of destruction is maintained the forests will
have completely disappeared in a decade. This will be a catastrophe for Madagascar which is one of the ten most important planet
biodiversity hot spots. The main deforestation reasons are slash & burn for agriculture and pasture, selective or illegal logging for
precious woods or construction material, collection of fuel wood including charcoal production and Clearing for mining.
We are convinced by giving economic value to Non Timber Forest Products lthrough sustainable and innovative forest productive value
chains to improve local communities income, we will participate to alleviate poverty through the creation of supplementary income for the
local communities
By placing an economic value on the baobab fruit, we are encouraging communities to protect their local trees and natural ressources,
which is good for wildlife and biodiversity.
Your support will help to make a real difference to the lives of poor families in very remote areas of Madagascar. The income these
people will earn from harvesting baobab will change their lives and enable them to afford the things we take for granted like healthcare
and education.
