AVE YOU EVER been asked, Which do you want to hear first, the good news or the bad news? The

Bible has the epitome of good news/bad news. If the Scriptures are true, there is good news. In
fact, its the ultimate good news! You can have eternal life. Heaven is real, and its not some ethereal,
pie-in-the-sky sitting on clouds and playing harps. It is down-to-earth, feet-on-the-ground everlasting
lifewhere you get to live on the soil of this earth without pain, suffering, disease, aging, death, earthquakes, tornadoes, mosquitoes, hurricanes, and a thousand and one other consequences of the Fall that
resulted from mans sin. Think of the most wonderful scene you can imaginelike a white-sand beach, a
brilliant sun, clear blue water with brilliantly colored fish, swaying palm trees, etc. Now throw that scene in
the trash, because thats what it is compared to what God has in store for those who love Him. Thats the
good news. The bad news is that if the Bible is true, there is also a very real Hell. But thats not all bad news.
It means that Hitler will be punished for slaughtering millions of innocent families. Thats good. It means
that murderers, rapists, and thieves will get what they deserve. But it is bad news in that God is going to
punish all evil, because each of us is guilty of breaking Gods moral Law, the Ten Commandments. So of all
the things you need to do in life, the most important is to make sure you get to Heaven and definitely avoid
Hell.
I hope you approach the Bible with a good deal of skepticism; so you should. The world is full of simple
folk who will make a shrine to a tree knot because it supposedly has the features of a dead saint. So is
there some way to know if the Bible is really true? The answer is a resounding, unequivocal YES! In fact,
there are three ways you can know that the Bible is divine in origin and therefore can be trusted.
The first way is that it contains thousands of prophecies, fulfilled to the smallest detail. The Bible tells us
the future, and is a history book written before history unfolded. That is a sure sign that Gods fingerprint
is all over the Biblebecause only the Creator of time knows what time has in store. If psychics knew the
future, they would move to Las Vegas, foretell each roll of the dice, and be billionaires living in mansions.
But they dont. Weather forecasters cant accurately predict the weather. Many a parade has been rained on
because they didnt get it right. But God is always accurate, from the beginning to the end.
The second way you can know God wrote the Bible (through men) is that it contains information that men
werent aware of when it was written. The 66 books of the Bible contain knowledge that only our omniscient
God could have knownamazing scientific facts recorded thousands of years before man discovered them.
The third way to know for certain that the Bible is Gods Word is to come to know its Author. The Bible
tells us that you were created to know Him. If you receive an invitation to visit the White House, personally
signed by the President, containing the Presidents seal as well as round-trip tickets, and you get a confirming phone call from the President himself, Im sure you wouldnt doubt that you were going to the White
House. Thats what the gospel (good news) promises. Its an invitation to spend eternity with your
Creator, in pleasure forever, and the invitation is personally confirmed by the Creator Himself. So you
would be wise not to despise or neglect this offer.

Of the three evidences, knowing God personally is the most powerful. This is why. My main purpose in
writing these words isnt to intellectually prove to you that the Bible is the Word of God. Lets say I was able
to convince you that Noah existed, that there was a worldwide catastrophic flood, and that he rescued two
of every animal in a massive boat. Thats just one small step in trying to convince you that the whole Book
can be trusted. I may then still have to convince you that Adam was made from dirt, that Jonah was swallowed by a great fish, that Jesus walked on water, and that all the other biblical accounts are true, many of
which are harder to swallow than Jonahs fish. Its far easier for me just to share the biblical gospel and let
God miraculously open your blind eyes. No one convinced me of the validity of the stories of the Bible.
Rather, when I responded to Gods invitation and chose to place my trust in Him, He supernaturally transformed me in an instant so that I knew experientially that with Him nothing is impossible. The new birth is
an undeniable personal miracle. Once that happens to you, then any other miracles are a breeze. The storm
can be stopped, waves can be calmed, bread and fish can be multiplied. Water can be walked on, Red Seas
can be parted, lions mouths closed, and scores of animals can fit into one big boat. That boat wasnt the
little rubber-ducky boat portrayed in kids cartoons; it was massive. And Noah didnt have to fit millions of

So lets look at Bible prophecy first.

Unlike other religious texts, the Bible offers a multitude of specific predictionssome thousands of years
in advancethat either have been literally fulfilled or point to a definite future time when they will come
true. They foretell the rise and fall of empires and leaders, as well as national calamities, and over three
hundred prophecies tell of the ancestry, birth, life, ministry, death, resurrection, and ascension of the promised Savior, Jesus of Nazareth. This is true of no other book in the world, and it is a sure sign of its divine
origin. Over 25 percent of the Bible contains specific predictive prophecies that have been fulfilled, so we
can trust that all remaining prophecies will be fulfilled with equal accuracy.
Jesus said of the end times, As the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be
(Matthew 24:37). In other words, certain activities that were prevalent in Noahs day would be prevalent in
the last days, just before the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.
In Noahs day there was great violence on the earth, much corruption, and the imaginations of mens hearts
were continually evil. Thats what we are seeing in todays society. Are we living in the last days? Here are
ten biblical signs for which we are to look:

The Scriptures tell us that there will be money-hungry Bible teachers who will slur the Christian
faith and deceive many:
. . . there will be false teachers among you . . . And many will follow their destructive ways,
because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. By covetousness they will exploit you
with deceptive words . . . (2 Peter 2:13).

There will be wars, earthquakes, famines, and widespread disease:

For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be
famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places (Matthew 24:7).

The moon will become blood red:

The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the
great and awesome day of the LORD (Acts 2:20).

Blasphemy will become commonplace:

. . . in the last days perilous times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of
money, boasters, proud, blasphemers . . . (2 Timothy 3:1,2).

There will be an increase in the acceptance of homosexuality as there was in the days of Sodom:
Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot . . . but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it
rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. Even so will it be in the day
when the Son of Man is revealed (Luke 17:2830).

Religious hypocrisy will be prevalent:

For [although] they hold a form of piety (true religion), they deny and reject and are
strangers to the power of it [their conduct belies the genuineness of their profession]
(2 Timothy 3:5, Amplified).

People will deny that God created the heavens and that He judged the world through Noahs flood:
There shall come in the last days scoffers . . . for this they willingly are ignorant of, that by
the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the
water: whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished (2 Peter
3:3,5,6).

The future will become frightening:

. . . mens hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken (Luke 21:26).

Scoffers will mock the Second Coming by claiming these signs have always been around:
. . . scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, and saying,
Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as
they were from the beginning of creation (2 Peter 3:3,4).

People will ignore the warning of the gospel:

But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the
days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until
the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all
away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be (Matthew 24:3739).

Lets now look at scientific facts in the Bible.

Before we look at these scientific facts, let me preface them with some very important information. Many
years ago, I ran a childrens club. At the end of the club I told about one hundred kids to line up for some
candy. There was an immediate rush, and the line sorted itself into what I saw as a line of greed. The bigger
bullies had pushed their way to the front of the line, and the smaller, quiet kids were at the back. So I did
something that gave me great satisfaction. I told the kids to turn about-face, then I took great delight in
going to the other end of the line and giving candy to the quieter, meek kids first.
In a world where bullies push their way to the front, where the rich and powerful stomp on the poor and
weak, God has gone to the other end of the line with the message of everlasting life. Here is what we are told:
For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing . . . For it is written: I
will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent

. . . But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has
chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the
base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things
which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, that no flesh should glory in His
presence (1 Corinthians 1:18,19,2729).
How has God turned the line around? He has chosen seemingly foolish things to confound the wise. Let me
illustrate:
Do you believe that the following biblical accounts actually happened?

Adam and Eve

Noahs Ark
Jonah and the great fish
Joshua and the walls of Jericho
Samson and his long hair
Daniel and the lions den
Moses and the Red Sea

Of course, you dont. To say that you believed such fantastic stories would mean youd have to surrender
your intellectual dignity. Who in their right mind would ever do that? The answer is simply those who
understand that God has chosen seemingly foolish, weak, base, and despised things of the world to confound
those who think they are wise.
Imagine that you are looking at a luxury liner moving through calm waters. To your surprise about a dozen
people jump off the ship and cling to a lifeboat. You watch as the rest of the passengers stand on the ship
and laugh at them. You can understand their reaction. What those few people did was foolish. It made no
sense. Suddenly, the ship hits an unseen iceberg and sinks, taking with it all who stayed on board. Now you
see that those who seemed like fools were wise, but those who stayed on the ship and seemed to be wise
were fools.
We have in the Bible a command to jump off the luxury liner of this world. Before you laugh at stupid
Christians, consider whether there is any proof that its claims are true. Here is scientific evidence that the
Bible is no ordinary book:

Jeremiah 33:22 (written 2,500 years ago): As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, nor the sand
of the sea measured . . .
The Bible claims that the stars are uncountable (host of heaven is the biblical term for the stars).
When this statement was made, no one knew how vast the number of stars was, as only about 1,100
were observable. Now we know that there are an estimated septillionor morestars, and that they
cannot be numbered.

Job 26:7 (written 3,500 years ago): He hangs the earth on nothing.
At a time when it was believed that the earth sat on a large animal, the Bible stated that the earth freely
floated in space. Scientists now know this is the case.

Leviticus 17:11 (written 3,000 years ago): For the life of the flesh is in the blood.
The great biological truth concerning the importance of blood in our bodys mechanism has been fully

comprehended only in recent years. Up until 120 years ago, sick people were bled, and many died
because of the practice. We now know that blood is essential to life. If you lose too much blood, you
will lose your life.

Leviticus 15:13 (written 3,000 years ago): And when he who has a discharge is cleansed of his discharge, then he shall count for himself seven days for his cleansing, wash his clothes, and bathe his
body in running water; then he shall be clean.
The Bible said that when dealing with disease, we should wash under running water. Because the
presence of microscopic diseases was unknown, up until 170 years ago doctors washed their hands in a
basin of still water, spreading diseases and resulting in the death of multitudes. We now know that
hands should be washed under running water.

Job 38:35 (written 3,500 years ago): Can you send out lightnings, that they may go, and say to you,
Here we are!?
This appears to be a scientifically ludicrous statementthat light can be sent, and then manifest itself in
speech. But did you know that radio waves move at the speed of light? This is why you can have instantaneous wireless communication with someone on the other side of the earth. Science didnt discover
this until 1864 when British scientist James Clerk Maxwell suggested that electricity and light waves
were two forms of the same thing (Modern Century Illustrated Encyclopedia, Vol. 12).

Isaiah 40:22 (written 2,800 years ago): It is He who sits above the circle of the earth.
The Bible informs us here that the earth is round. This is not a reference to a flat disk, as some skeptics
maintain, but to a sphere. At a time when science believed that the earth was flat, it was the Scriptures
that inspired Christopher Columbus to sail around the world. He wrote: It was the Lord who put it
into my mind. I could feel His hand upon me . . . there is no question the inspiration was from the Holy
Spirit because He comforted me with rays of marvelous illumination from the Holy Scriptures . . .
(from his diary, in reference to his discovery of the New World).

Job 38:19 (written 3,500 years ago): Where is the way to the dwelling of light?
Man has only in recent centuries discovered that light (electromagnetic radiation) has a way, traveling
at 186,000 miles per second.

Genesis 1:1,2 (written 3,500 years ago): In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth . . .
And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
Science expresses the universe in five terms: time, space, matter, power, and motion. In the beginning
[time] God created [power] the heavens [space] and the earth [matter] . . . And the Spirit of God was
hovering [motion] over the face of the waters. The first thing God tells man is that He controls all
aspects of the universe.

Psalm 8:8: . . . and the fish of the sea that pass through the paths of the seas.
Man discovered the existence of ocean currents in the 1850s, but the Bible declared the science of
oceanography thousands of years ago. Matthew Maury (18061873), considered the father of oceanography, noticed the expression paths of the sea in Psalm 8. If God said there are paths in the sea,
Maury said, I am going to find them. He took God at His word and went looking for these paths, and
we are indebted to him for discovering the warm and cold continental currents. His book on oceanography remains a basic text on the subject and is still used in universities.

Jonah 2:6 (written 2,800 years ago): I went down to the moorings of the mountains . . .
When Jonah was in the depths of the ocean, he spoke of going down to the bottoms of the mountains.
Only in recent years has man discovered that there are mountains on the ocean floor. The greatest
ocean depth has been measured in the Mariana Trench, at around 36,000 feet below sea level. By
contrast, Mount Everest is about 29,000 feet high.

Amos 9:6 (written 2,800 years ago): He . . . calls for the waters of the sea, and pours them out on the
face of the earththe Lord is His name.
The Mississippi River dumps over six million gallons of water per second into the Gulf of Mexico.
Where does all that water go? And thats just one of thousands of rivers. The answer lies in the hydrologic cycle, so well brought out in the Bible. The Scriptures inform us, All the rivers run into the sea,
yet the sea is not full; to the place from which the rivers come, there they return again (Ecclesiastes 1:7).
Psalm 135:7 tells us that God causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth. Ecclesiastes 11:3
states that if the clouds are full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth. The idea of a complete
water cycle was not fully understood until the seventeenth century, but 2,400 years earlier the Scriptures
clearly spoke of a water cycle.

Ecclesiastes 1:6: The wind goes toward the south, and turns around to the north; the wind whirls
about continually, and comes again on its circuit.
The wind does indeed have a circuit. The Bible described this cycle of air currents almost three thousand years before scientists discovered them.

Job 38:12,14 (written 3,500 years ago): Have you commanded the morning since your days began,
and caused the dawn to know its place . . .? It [the earth] takes on form like clay under a seal, and
stands out like a garment.
Modern science has come to understand that the earths rotation on its axis is responsible for the suns
rising and setting. The picture here is of a clay vessel being turned or rotated on the potters wheelan
accurate analogy of the earths rotation.

Psalm 19:46: In them He has set a tabernacle for the sun, which is like a bridegroom coming out of
his chamber. . . Its rising is from one end of heaven, and its circuit to the other end; and there is
nothing hidden from its heat.
Bible critics have scoffed at these verses, claiming they teach that the sun revolves around the earth.
Scientists once thought the sun was stationary. Then it was discovered in recent years that the sun is in
fact moving through space at approximately 600,000 miles per hour. It is traveling through the heavens
and has a circuit just as the Bible says. Its circuit is so large that it would take an estimated 200 million
years to complete one orbit.

Genesis 2:1 (after creation): Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were
finished.
The original Hebrew uses the past definite tense for the verb finished, indicating an action completed
in the past, never again to occur. The creation was finishedonce and for all. That is what the First
Law of Thermodynamics states: that neither matter nor energy can be either created or destroyed.
There is no creation ongoing today. It is finished exactly as the Bible declares.

Hebrews 1:10,11 (written 2,000 years ago): You, Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of the
earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands. They will perish, but You remain; and they will all
grow old like a garment.
Three times the Bible says that the earth is wearing out. This is what the Second Law of Thermodynamics
(the law of increasing entropy) states: that in all physical processes, every ordered system over time
tends to become more disordered. Everything is running down and wearing out as energy is becoming
less and less available for use. That means the universe will eventually wear out to the extent that
(theoretically speaking) there will be a heat death and therefore no more energy available for use. This
wasnt discovered by man until fairly recently, but the Bible states it in clear, succinct terms.

Genesis 17:12: He who is eight days old among you shall be circumcised, every male child in your
generations . . .
The Bible consistently says that male infants must be circumcised on the eighth day, because this is the
day that the coagulating factor in the blood, called prothrombin, is the highest. Medical science has
discovered that this is when the human bodys immune system is at its peak.

Genesis 3:15: And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her
seed; it shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel.
This verse reveals that a female possesses the seed of life. This was not the common knowledge until a
few centuries ago. It was widely believed that only the male possessed the seed of life and that the
woman was nothing more than a glorified incubator.

Isaiah 40:22 (written 2,800 years ago): It is He who . . . stretches out the heavens like a curtain, and
spreads them out like a tent to dwell in.
Scientists now know that the universe is expanding, or stretching out. At least seven times in Scripture
we are clearly told that God stretches out the heavens like a curtain.

These scientific and prophetic facts prove that the Bible is no ordinary book; it is supernatural in origin, as
it so often claims. It is the Word of God, stating Thus says the Lord 3,800 times. There is no other book in
any of the worlds religions (Bhagavad Gita, Vedas, Quran, Book of Mormon, etc.) that contain perfectly
accurate prophetic and scientific truth. In fact, they contain statements that are clearly erroneous and
unscientific.

What About Evolution?

What about evolutiondoesnt that disprove the Bible? Since none of us were there at the beginning, we
have to rely on historical evidence to piece together what happened in the past. If there was no Creator,
there should be plenty of evidence to show how everything came about through random chance and natural processes. So lets consider the evidence starting at the beginning.
Scientists propose the universe began with a Big Bangwhere nothing suddenly became time, space,
matter, and energy, forming a vast, complex, orderly universe composed of over 100 billion galaxies and
containing an estimated trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion tons of matter. But where did the initial matter
come from? How could something come from nowhere, by itself? What was the catalyst that caused it to go
bang?
According to the First Law of Thermodynamics (the law of conservation of energy), matter and energy can
be neither created nor destroyed. Something spontaneously appearing from nothing is contrary to all

known science. Even today, scientists have many theories about our origins but no proof. Instead, all the
evidence aligns with what wed expect to find if God spoke and the universe instantly came into being from
nothingjust as the Bible says.
The next problem is the origin of life. Nonliving things coming to life is the stuff of science fiction, not science. Highly intelligent scientists using the top high-tech equipment have been unable to create life in a lab.
The Law of Biogenesis proves that spontaneous generation is impossible and that life can arise only from
preexisting life.
The Law of Biogenesis also dictates that life perpetuates itselfkinds only reproduce their own kinds, just
as the Bible says. Theres no scientific evidence that the incredible diversity of life has arisen from a simple
cell. According to the Second Law of Thermodynamics (the law of increasing entropy), every ordered system over time tends to become more disordered; things do not become more designed, more orderly, or
more complex.
But arent changes in bird beaks, for instance, evidence of evolution? Evolutionists typically cite examples of
natural selection and claim theyre evidence of evolution. But natural selection, or adaptation, is simply
variations within a kind and has nothing to do with Darwinian evolution. There is tremendous variety
within the dog family, or kindfrom the tiny Chihuahua to the Great Danebut the variations we see in
adaptation are always within limits set by the genetic code. Dogs remain dogs, birds remain birds, humans
remain humans. Darwinian evolution, however, assumes that these small variations within a kind can accumulate and can create entirely new body types and features (like a reptile becoming a bird)something for
which there is no evidence.
DNA is a genetic language, and going from molecules to man would require massive increases in genetic
information to create the new body parts. This would be like a telegram giving rise to encyclopedias of
meaningful genetic sentencessomething random mutations can never provide. Mutations are like typing
errors, and they can only modify or eliminate existing structures, not create new ones. Scientists have yet to
find even a single mutation that increases genetic information.
But dont DNA similarities prove were related to apes? DNA is the coding for the way our bodies look and
operate, so the more features or body functions humans have in common with animals and even plants
(eyes for vision, enzymes for digestion, etc.), the more we find similar coding in our DNA blueprints.
Rather than evidence of common ancestry, it points to a common Designer!
What about the fossils? Do they prove the gradual progression from simple life forms to more complex?
During the Cambrian Explosion, virtually all the major animal groups appear suddenly without any trace
of less complex ancestors. So the fossil record shows that most animals appeared fully formed, all at one
time, and have remained pretty much the same. This is exactly what we would expect to find if creation
were true.
While there should be countless trillions of transitional forms if evolution were true, all we have at best
are a handful of disputable examples. Even vestigial organs are no help for the theory. The list of supposed vestigial organs has shrunk from 180 in Darwins day to virtually zero today, as scientists have discovered the function God designed into each one.
The bottom line is that there is no scientific (observable and testable) evidence for Darwinian evolution,
and in fact the theory contradicts several known scientific laws.

Evolution takes a great leap of blind faith. If Christians had as much faith in the Bible as evolutionists have
in the theory of evolution, we would see revival. Evolution doesnt disprove the existence of God; it just
reveals that those who believe it are truly capable of faith in the invisible. It also confirms Napoleons observation: Man will believe anything, as long as its not in the Bible.

What About Mistakes in the Bible?

Perhaps you have found what you view as mistakes in the Bible, and they are keeping you from giving the
Bible any real credibility. Here are some common items skeptic bring up:

Hares dont chew cud

The account of two creations
Cains wife
Adam didnt die the day God said he would
A flat earth
Bible atrocities
Divine genocide
The contradiction between an eye for an eye and turn the other cheek
Zedekiah not seeing Babylon
Contradictions in the conversion of Saul of Tarsus

Lets look at the last two, then I will address more arguments later:
I will bring him [Zedekiah] to Babylon, to the land of the Chaldeans; yet he shall not see it,
though he shall die there (Ezekiel 12:13).
And Zedekiah king of Judah shall not escape from the hand of the Chaldeans, but shall
surely be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon, and shall speak with him face to
face, and see him eye to eye; then he shall lead Zedekiah to Babylon . . . (Jeremiah 32:4,5).
This seems to be a clear contradiction. One prophet says that Zedekiah will not see Babylon. The other says
that he will be captured and taken to Babylon.
However, here is what happened:
Then the king of Babylon killed the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes in Riblah; the king of
Babylon also killed all the nobles of Judah. Moreover he put out Zedekiahs eyes, and bound
him with bronze fetters to carry him off to Babylon (Jeremiah 39:6,7).
Zedekiah looked into the eyes of the king of Babylon, then he was blinded and taken captive to Babylon.
Here is another glaring contradiction in two accounts of the conversion of Saul of Tarsus:
So he, trembling and astonished, said, Lord, what do You want me to do? Then the Lord
said to him, Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do. And the men
who journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice but seeing no one (Acts 9:6,7).
So I answered, Who are you, Lord? And He said to me, I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom you
are persecuting. And those who were with me indeed saw the light and were afraid, but they
did not hear the voice of Him who spoke to me (Acts 22:8,9).

Did they hear the voice, or didnt they? Heres the answer:
Father, glorify Your name. Then a voice came from heaven saying, I have both glorified it
and will glorify it again. Therefore the people who stood by and heard it said that it had
thundered. Others said, An angel has spoken to him (John 12:28,29).
Those who stood by heard Gods voice, but they didnt hear what He said. Now you have a choice. You can
either argue about the word voice, or you can stop for a moment and say, Could it be that I am a proud
person, and that I refuse to humble myself? Could it be that my professed wisdom has put me at the wrong
end of the line?

What About Cains Wife, and Other Objections?

Despite these evidences of the credibility of Scripture, we live in an age when many consider themselves too
enlightened to believe the Bible. They think the arguments they come up with are fresh and new. However,
they are old and worn out and it takes great patience to answer objections that have been addressed thousand of times beforeobjections such as Where did Cain get his wife? How do we know God exists?
Jesus said that the mustard seed is the smallest, yet we have smaller seeds today, How many angels were
at the tomb? or If God is love, why do bad things happen? I have addressed these so many times I decided
to put together a single-paragraph, Gatling-gun answer. It may not convince a hardened skeptic, but it may
help you if you are struggling with one or two of these, and it may equip you to answer a question if one
comes up.
The rabbit does re-eat partially digested fecal pellets that come from a special pouch to aid digestion (the
Hebrew literally means raises up what has been swallowed). Genesis 1 gives the day-by-day account of the
entire creation week, whereas Genesis 2 gives the details of mans creation on the sixth day. Cain married a
distant sister, as you did, if you are married. The Bible classifies bats with birds because it grouped winged
creatures together, long before the modern classification system was created. (Just because theyre different
doesnt mean one is in error.) The Bible doesnt say the earth is flat; Isaiah 40 says its round. Jesus is saying
that of the seeds sown by the Jews in Israel, the mustard seed is the smallest. An eye for an eye isnt
encouraging us to seek vengeance; its giving judgments for civil law, requiring that criminals pay restitution to their victims. We know Jesus existed historically because our years date back to His birth and secular
sources corroborate His life. Hypocrites arent Christians, they are pretenders (false converts). Creation
(including the design, order, and complexity of Nature) is proof of the Creator. Thats all we need to see to
know God exists, and our God-given conscience makes us morally responsible to Him. Prophecy is proof
that the Bible is God-inspired because only He knows the future. Any skeptic need only repent and trust in
Jesus to know for certain that God is real. The Bible hasnt changed through the ages, as proven by the Dead
Sea Scrolls and a quick comparison with ancient manuscripts. Why doesnt God heal amputees? is like
asking why He doesnt grow hair on bald headsit proves nothing. There are other gods (millions of them)
but only one Creator. Not believing in Hell doesnt make it go away. Adam and Eve did die the day they
ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, just as God warned they would. They died spiritually the
instant they sinned, and it was just a matter of time before they also died physically. Its the same with you
and I; we are all spiritually dead and waiting to die physically. Men did write the Bible, but they were
inspired by God. There were two angels at the tomb, but only one is mentioned in one of the Gospels.
Different genealogies are listed in the Gospels because one is Marys and the other is Josephs. Jesus didnt
change the Old Testament; He fulfilled it. God is not all loving; He is love, but Hes also just and holy.
Children die of starvation around the world because of a lack of their own governments compassion, and

because of the worldwide misdirection of trillions of dollars on wars and on searching space for intelligent
life. Millions of people die each year of all sorts of disease because we live in a fallen creation. Pain, suffering,
disease, and death are all very real evidences that the Bibles account of the Fall of mankind is true. Evolutionists believe they are essentially talking primates that evolved vocal chords. So it shouldnt be a stretch to
believe that occasionally an animal could supernaturally talk as described in the Bible. What skeptics call a
bronze-age book is a testimony to Gods preservation of His Word through the ages. Sin isnt Gods fault;
God made me do it isnt a defense in a court of law, and neither will it be one on Judgment Day. Hitler
wasnt a Christian; he hated Christianity and called it a disease. No one can say definitively that death is
the end; they dont know. Christians can know they have eternal life because we have the greatest authority
on earththe Word of God and the confirmation of God Himself who seals each believer. The words
soul and life are synonymous in the Bible. You have a soul; its the real you, and you will leave your body
at death and enter eternity. Not everyone who ends up in Hell will get the same punishment; God will give
each exactly what is due and His judgment will be according to righteousness. Gods command to Joshua
to wipe out the Canaanites was right because God never sins; He has justly proclaimed the death sentence
on the entire human race as the penalty for sin. You are not a defective product so that your sin is the
Manufacturers fault; you are a moral creature and are therefore morally responsible. God sees our thoughtlife and sees lust as adultery, thats why we need the Savior. If you want a sign from God, you can have
one: obey the gospel and you will get your miracle; God will reveal Himself to you.
Heres the bottom line. You and I stand on the edge of eternity. Any of us could die in a heartbeat. We are
like a man standing in the door of a plane 10,000 feet in the air and not wearing a parachute. Someone says
Put the parachute on! You say, First, I want to ask how we can know that the plane had a maker. Then I
would like to talk about how old the plane is. You think its new; I think its old. Okay, these are interesting
questions, but lets first get your parachute on, and then we can discuss them. Put these issues aside for a
moment, put on the Lord Jesus Christ as the Bible commands, then ask about them if you wish.

What Does All This Mean?

Here is the incredible implication. If God did write the Bible through the pens of men (see 2 Timothy 3:16;
2 Peter 1:20,21), then its terrible warning of Hell and incredible promise of Heaven are therefore true, and
need to be heeded. How then can a person find everlasting life?
Most think that we get to Heaven through living a good life. That seems right, but according to the Bible, it
is wrong. Our mistake is that we think Gods standards are the same as ours. Lets look at the Ten Commandments to see if we have kept His standards: Have you ever told a lie (even once)? Have you ever stolen
anything (the value is irrelevant)? If you said, Yes to those two questions, you cannot enter Heaven
because you are a lying thief. If you hate someone, you commit murder in Gods sight. Jesus said, Whoever
looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. Have you ever done
that? Have you ever jealously desired something that belonged to someone else? If you have (and who
hasnt?), then youve broken the Tenth Commandment. Have you loved God above all else? Have you made
a god to suit yourself, an image of god that youre more comfortable with? Have you ever used His holy
name in vain, or as a cuss word? Have you kept the Sabbath holy? Have you always honored your parents?
Listen to your conscience. Remember all those secret sins you thought no one knew about. God has seen
them, and He will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing. We are all guilty criminals,
and to offer God anything in the area of good deeds or religious works is an attempt to bribe the Judge of

the universe. The only thing that can save us from His wrath is His mercy, and that cant be earned. It doesnt
matter if you dont believe in God or in Judgment Day. You will still have to face Him anyway.
Because of His mercy, this is what God did for you. He became a Man in Jesus Christ, and suffered and died
on the cross, taking the punishment for our sins. He was bruised for our iniquities. The Bible tells us, God
demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8).
Jesus suffered once and for all on our behalf, and then He rose from the dead. If we repent (turn from our
sins) and trust in the Savior alone, God will forgive us and grant us eternal life: For by grace you have been
saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast
(Ephesians 2:8,9). How could we earn His mercy by doing anything? Yet, it is a fatal mistake to believe
that God can be bribed, that you will have a second chance. There is no second chance; once you leave this
life, your eternity is sealed: It is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment (Hebrews
9:27). What will you say on Judgment Day? Hares dont chew cud? Will you be worried about where Cain
got his wife? Or will your defense be that bats arent birds? What do they have to do with the fact that you
have sinned against God? It is not Gods will that you go to Hell. Please, come to your senses and obey the
gospel. Turn from your sins and place your trust in Jesus. If you will humbly admit that you have broken
Gods Commandments, earnestly pray something like this: Dear God, please forgive my sins (name them).
Nothing I can do could merit everlasting life. I trust only in the mercy that You offer me in Jesus Christ. I
put my faith in the Savior (not in man, in a church, or in my good works) for my eternal salvation. I will
read the Bible daily and obey what I read. In Jesus name. Amen. Now carefully read John 14:21.
