Ewbank started business manufacturing washing

machines in the 1870s from its base in Accrington,
Lancashire until on May 1st 1889, the UKs very first carpet
sweeper manufactured by Ewbank was sent out. There
followed several changes to the design and over the
years the business grew such that almost every home
could boast a Ewbank sweeper.

At Ewbank we regularly hear tales of Ewbank Sweepers

which are still going strong many decades after they
were first purchased, often these sweepers are still in
regular use with very happy second or 3rd generation
owners.
The history and tradition of Ewbank manufacturing
domestic cleaning products continues to this day. Our
range now includes not only carpet sweepers, but
vacuums, floor polishers, carpet shampooers and a
steam cleaner.
