Activities:

Set Induction:
1. Pupils study 5 pictures on the board.
2. Select a few pupils to name the activities by
pronouncing them correctly and spell out the
activities.
3. Pupils share their experience during Family Day.
Activity 1:
1. Pupils are introduced to other activities that they
can do on Family Day.
2. Pupils follow the teacher pronouncing and spell
out the names of the activities. Repeat for a
couple of times.
3. Elicit from pupils other activities they can do on
Family Day.
4. Randomly, pupils are asked to choose an activity
they like and state the reason.
Activity 2:
1. Pupils are divided into groups of 5.
2. In their groups, pupils are asked to choose one
activity they would like to organise on Family
Day and state their reasons of chosen activity.
3. Pupils also have to explain how to go about with
the activity.
4. Pupils select a representative to preset their
discussion.
Closure:
1. Randomly, pupils are selected to talk about the
activities they would like to join during Family

Set Induction:
1. Pupils study a poster teacher pastes on the board
2. Elicit the important information of the poster from
pupils.
Activity 1:
1. Pupils are introduced to a format of a poster.
2. Pupils read aloud the poster pasted on the board.
3. Explain some of the difficult words to pupils.
Activity 2:
1. In groups, pupils answer the comprehension
questions about the poster.
2. Pupils and teachers check the answers and make
correction where necessary.
3. In groups, pupils make their own Family Day
poster by the following the format taught
4. Pupils are a piece of mahjong paper to make their
poster.
Closure:
1. Randomly, a representative of each group will
present their poster.

Set Induction:
1. Pupils share their experiences of their holiday
destination.
2. Pupils are shown a few examples of postcards and
its function.
Activity 1:
1. Pupils read a postcard on page 6 in their textbook
silently.
2. Pupils listen to explanation on some of the difficult
words.
3. Pupils brainstorm on this they can include when
writing a postcard.
Activity 2:
1. Pupils are asked to choose one holiday destination
they have been to and write a postcard.
2. Pupils and teacher brainstorm on some phrases that
can help to describe the holiday destination.
3. Pupils write out their postcard in cursive writing on
a postcard template given.
Closure:
1. Pupils read out their postcard to their classmates.

1. Pupils are shown a few pictures of different items.
2. Pupils name the things shown by answering to
teachers questions orally.
Activity 1:
1. Pupils listen to explanation about singular nouns
and plural nouns and the examples.
2. In groups of 5 pupils are given 20 words of
singular nouns and plural nouns.
3. Pupils complete the table of singular nouns and
plural nouns.
4. Pupils and teacher checks the table.
Activity 2:
1. Select a few pupils to answer and spell the plural
nouns of the words given by teacher.
2. Pupils answer 6 questions on singular nouns and
plural nouns in their textbook on page 8.
Closure:
1. Pupils and teacher discuss the answers.

1. Pupils are shown a few pictures of cats.


2. Pupils respond to teachers Wh- questions about
acts. E.g: What sounds do a cat make, what is the
baby cat called, etc.
Activity 1:
1. Pupils read the poem silently.
2. Pupils follow teacher to reads the poem for a couple
of times.
3. Pupils share of places cats like to hide, play and
sleep.
Activity 2:
1. Pupils are divided into 8 groups and each group is
given a stanza each from the poem.
2. Pupils recite their stanza with the movements and
actions of cats.
3. Pupils are given a worksheet to write out places
where cats can scratch, take a nap, hide and play.
Closure:
1. Pupils share their responses with the class.
