4. FIRST AID MEASURES

General advice
If you feel unwell, seek medical advice (show the label where possible). Take off contaminated clothing and shoes
immediately. Wash contaminated clothing before re-use. Show this safety data sheet to the doctor in attendance.
Inhalation:
Move to fresh air in case of accidental inhalation of vapors or decomposition products. Lie down in the recovery position,
cover and keep warm. Apply artificial respiration only if patient is not breathing or under medical supervision.
Skin contact:
Wash off immediately with soap and plenty of water removing all contaminated clothes and shoes. If skin irritation persists,
call a physician.
Eye contact
Immediately flush with plenty of water. After initial flushing, remove any contact lenses and continue flushing for at least 15
minutes. Keep eyes wide open while rinsing. If eye irritation persists, consult a specialist.
Ingestion:
Clean mouth with water and drink afterwards plenty of water. Do not induce vomiting: contains petroleum distillates and/or
aromatic solvents. If a person vomits when lying on his back, place him in the recovery position. Obtain medical attention.

5. FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES
Suitable extinguishing media
Use dry chemical, CO2, water spray or "alcohol" foam.
Extinguishing media which must not be used for safety reasons
Do not use a solid water stream as it may scatter and spread fire.
Specific hazards
Flammable. The vapour is invisible, heavier than air and spreads along the ground. Can form explosive mixture with air
particularly in empty uncleaned containers. Heating may cause pressure rise with risk of bursting and subsequent explosion.
Flash back possible over considerable distance.
Special protective equipment for fire-fighters
Wear self contained breathing apparatus for fire fighting if necessary.
Specific methods
In the event of fire, cool containers/tanks with water spray.

6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES

Personal precautions
Remove all sources of ignition. Pay attention to flashback. Use appropriate personal protective equipment. Avoid contact with
skin, eyes and clothing. Wear personal protective equipment.
Environmental precautions
Should not be released into the environment. Do not allow material to contaminate ground water system. Do not flush into
surface water or sanitary sewer system. Prevent product from entering drains. Avoid subsoil penetration. Local authorities
should be advised if significant spillages cannot be contained.
Methods for cleaning up
Sweep up and shovel into suitable containers for disposal. Soak up with inert absorbent material and dispose of as
hazardous waste.

7. HANDLING AND STORAGE

Handling
Use only in area provided with appropriate exhaust ventilation. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Change out of working
clothes and wash hands before breaks and at the end of the working day.
Storage
Keep away from open flames, hot surfaces and sources of ignition.
Packaging material
Store in original container.

8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS / PERSONAL PROTECTION

Occupational exposure controls
Engineering measures
As required by the COSHH regulations, the user (employer) must "monitor and maintain the concentration of all hazardous
substances in the air below their occupational exposure limits." Ensure spray booth filters are changed, cleaned and
serviced regularly. Provide adequate ventilation. Equipment used to apply and cure this product must be adequately
exhausted. Where reasonably practicable this should be achieved by the use of local exhaust ventilation and good general
extraction.

Respiratory protection
When workers are facing concentrations above the exposure limit they must use appropriate certified respirators. The use of
a suitable mask with particle filter P3 (BS EN 143) and a respirator with an organic vapour filter A2 (BS EN 143) is
recommended.
Hand protection
Solvent-resistant gloves. For prolonged use the gloves should meet the requirements of EN374 preferably with a Class 6
performance level which indicates a breakthrough time of >480 minutes e.g butyl rubber gloves - 0.7mm coating thickness.
For short-term contact the gloves should meet the requirements of EN374 preferably with at least Class 2 performance level
which indicates a breakthrough time of >30 minutes e.g nitrile rubber - 0.4 mm coating thickness. Gloves should be replaced
immediately if signs of degradation are observed.
Eye protection
Safety glasses. If extra protection is required wear a face-shield over the safety glasses or splash goggles. Face-shields are
only effective if worn in addition to safety glasses or splash goggles. Eye wash bottle with pure water.
Skin and body protection
Lightweight protective clothing. Safety showers should be readily available.
Hygiene measures
It is good practice in industrial hygiene to avoid contact with organic solvents by using appropriate protective measures
whenever possible.
