Studiis et rebus honestis which means 'For Things and Studies That Are Honest'. This is
the motto for the University of Vermont. Attending the University of Vermont sets one up for
post-baccalaureate success because of its strong business program, its diverse student body, and
its superb location.
Attending the University of Vermont sets one up for post-baccalaureate success because
of its strong business program. The University of Vermont has a strong business program
because of its world-class faculty. The university has a world-class faculty because they excel in
education and research. Also most of the faculty have real world business experience. The
University of Vermont has a world-class faculty is because they also have a cutting edge
research. They have cutting edge research because they educate managers for success in
complex, global, and sustainable environments. Another reason for having cutting edge research
is because they focus on building better companies in a better world. The University of Vermont
has a strong business program because of its recruiting. They have excellent recruiting because
many companies look to them when they want to recruit a new employee. Some examples of
these companies are General Electric, Goldman Sachs and Jet Blue Airways. The university has
excellent recruiting because of the internships that they are able to help their students get. These
internships are important because they are a key to finding jobs after graduation. As mentioned
on the University of Vermont website, "about eighty percent of all business students participate
in at least one or more internships."(http://www.uvm.edu)

Additionally, attending the University of Vermont sets one up for post-baccalaureate

success because its diverse student body. Diversity is a priority at the University of Vermont, and
there are several initiatives active on campus. Some examples of the initiatives are Institutional
initiatives, Co-curricular initiatives, and Community initiatives. The Institutional initiative is
endorsed by the president of the college and can be found in its goal statement and programs.
The Co-curricular initiatives are both in the social environment of the student center as well as
events and safe housing through the residents life program. The University of Vermont focuses
on its diversity through its community partnerships with local arts centers in the Burlington area.
In addition to these initiatives, the University of Vermont requires all undergraduates to take six
credits on diversity prior to graduation. The first course that they offer at the University of
Vermont is race and racism in the US. The second course that they offer at the university is the
diversity of human experience.
Finally, attending the University of Vermont sets one up for post-baccalaureate success
because of its superb location. The University of Vermont has a superb location because it is
located close to Lake Champlain. Lake Champlain is important because many of the classes at
the university travel there. Another reason why Lake Champlain is important is because many of
the University of Vermont's research projects are associated with Lake Champlain and Vermont
water ways. The University of Vermont has a superb location because it is located near the
Green Mountains. As said on the Vermont Woodlands website, "78% of Vermont is covered in
forests."(http://www.vermontwoodlands.org) It is the original home of skiing and snowboarding.
Many world-class ski resorts are located in the small towns throughout Vermont.
Attending the University of Vermont sets one up for post-baccalaureate success because
of its strong business program, its diverse student body, and its superb location. The combination

of strong business skills and excellent education provides one with the ability to succeed in the
future. The University of Vermont offers a perfect combination of education and environment for
someone who would like to own and operate a ski resort one day.
