Requirements:

a. Arduino Uno it is possible to run with Mega or others but other wiring maybe
required. Some people are using Micro (it must be 5V version) but they have trouble
with that.
b. Gy-80 or Gy-85

Manual
Do hardware connection

Uno GY-80 or GY85

A4 SDA

A5 SCL

5V VCC_IN

GND GND

Micro GY-80 or GY85

2 SDA

3 SCL

5V VCC_IN

GND GND

!!!!! Some people have problems with Arduino Micro so do it on your own risk.

Mega (I did not test it)

Mega GY-80 or GY85

SDA (Pin 20) SDA

SCL (Pin 21) SCL

5V VCC_IN

GND GND

1. Go to http://facetracknoir.sourceforge.net/home/default.htm and download

FTR_DIY_based_Tracker.zip

2. Unpack with folders as they are (do not change structure)

Go to proper Arduino model Uno or Micro than to right board and then \Calibration
Software\DIY_headtracker\ and open DIY_headtracker.ino if you keep folder
structure Arduino should not ask you to create any folders.

3. Compile. If you have any faults make sure your Arduino compiler is version 1.0.5

4. Download to Arduino

5. Go back to main folder and open HeadTrackerGUI.exe. Select COM and connect.
Select start plot. Now you should see all 3 axis. It is important to find where is front
of you board.

6. Go to tool ->calibration wizard (axis method). Do Calibration as shown (in case of GY-
80 it is different. I think I need to make manual for it but if you know where is a front
of your board in reference to picture than you can do it). Finish calibration and check
on graphs if board behaving like it should. Close software.

7. Go to folder DIY_headtracker (outside of Calibration Software folder) and open

DIY_headtracker.ino. Compile, download.

8. Go to https://sourceforge.net/projects/hatire/ and download FTNoIR_Tracker Hatire

plugin. Extract files to FTNIR folder.
9. Open FTRNoIR. Select Tracker Source (1st = Master) to Hatire Arduino (if it does not
exist check if you put Hatire plugin to FTRNIR folder. Screenshot below

10. Open Settings for Tracker.

11. Select Com you are using. Make the enables as on screenshot.
12. Switch to Command

13. Put key Z into Delay Start and Zero.

14. Save and click OK.

15. !!!! In case of Micro BaudRate must be 57600

16. Choose shortkeys and select key for Game Zero. Select Ok.

17. Now you can select Start. Please hold your board steady for at least 4 seconds for
gyro calibration.
18. You should see Raw Input changing when u move your sensor:

19. Now you can use key selected in Shortkeys for Center to zeros Raw Inputs and Center
to zero actual yaw, pitch and roll. Try to move you sensor and if required you may
use Inver field in Global Settings to invert axis of yaw, pitch or roll.

20. Now enter Curves.

21. Adjust the curves for your needs.
