In the past, operators have used 2D medium resolution data (20m+) to plan
2G and 3G networks. Recently, weve witnessed a dramatic increase in
demand for our 2.5D Urban Planner and 3D City Planner products as operators
deploy complex broadband and LTE networks including those employing
a heterogeneous strategy with small cells. Built-up urban areas provide the
greatest RF challenges, and with the highest population concentration the
largest payoff, to wireless operators. The need for proactive simulation-based
RF planning and optimization using advanced 3D visualization capabilities in
conjunction with specialized telecom geodata has never been greater.

Why 3D Geodata?
City Planner 3D data sets provide a very accurate model on which
to perform RF planning and optimization, particularly in dense urban Minimum Mapping Unit
environments. Why is the market so interested in 3D data? There are a The minimum mapping unit is the

City Planner data sets at 1-5m resolution are a perfect input for advanced
urban propagation models that generate RF predictions in the horizontal and
vertical planes. This geodata delivers tremendous accuracy for modeling
canyon effects, diffraction, reflection, etc. in small-cell planning of dense
urban areas. LuxCarta has also introduced Urban Planner 2.5D data to offer
higher-resolution 2D data with a clutter height layer that provides an important
input for the propagation model. 2.5D data delivers a practical and cost-
effective option for simulating below-rooftop small cells in urban, industrial
and suburban morphologies.
Mapping Your World in 3D
LuxCarta understands the unique challenges that RF and performance engineers
face as they plan and optimize their networks. Fundamentally, they require the
most accurate representation of their network so that improvements achieved
in simulation will be realized once implemented. Our 3D City Planner models
provide the accuracy that engineers demand.
SpacEyes3D RF Vision lets users visualize their network (e.g., sites and antennas)
and their RF simulation (coverage maps, interference prediction, etc.) in 3D. It
utilizes analyses generated by leading RF planning software to deliver stunning
3D representations of indoor/multi-floor predictions and network coverage.
SpacEyes RF Vision lets engineers:
