17th Annual Lily Show

The seventeenth annual Lily Show was held July 18 and 19, 2008 at Reginas Golden Mile Shopping Centre. A
colorful display was presented in spite of a lower number of stems, the result of a cool, slow spring.

A big thank you is given to the judges for their thoughtful and conscientious work. Horticultural Classes
were judged by Phyllis Mueller, Charlien Britton and Maida Gardner. Student judges participating were
Shirley Tuttosi, Ray Brecht and Cheryl Siemens (Cheryl is recently qualified as a judge by NALS). Decorative
Classes were judged by Dolores Nelson, and the Photo Contest was judged by Shirley Gerlack and Marie
Wilson, members of the Regina Photo Club.

Many thanks are also sent to our Show Sponsors, Dutch Growers Garden Centre, Sherwood
Greenhouses, Valley K Greenhouses, Unique Garden Centre, Elaine Fellner, David Drysdale, Dolores Nelson,
and Wascana Flower Shoppe.

Summer picnic and tour

Our pot-luck supper was most enjoyable to all those members, husbands, daughters, relatives
and friends that were able to attend.
Thanks so much to JoAnn for opening up your home and yard for us, we thoroughly enjoyed
JoAnns large yard with all the lilies, plants, shrubs, trees and secluded area.
Our tour to the Historical Lily Garden was not taken due to the heavy rain and muddy areas
that we would have to walk through.
Then all of us went to Shirleys yard, with so many magnificent lilies. Thank you Shirley for
letting us tour your yard.
Last stop on our tour was Norm and Ethias yard, which was so beautiful and well kept. After
we had the tour we were treated to drink, dainties and chatted for quite a while. Thanks, Norm
and Ethia for showing us your gorgeous yard!
