Manticaitself.Talesspeakofthesmitingofthecoloniesbyatidalwave,wroughtbyasilverstar
fromtheskiesthemselvesthatlandedinthewatersnearby.Othersclaimedthatthecolonieswere
abandonedduetoanonslaughtofcreaturesfromthewaves.Theysaythatthetreasureandruins
fromtheislandsweretakentofillthewarcoffersofthevariousnationstatesthroughouttheages
followingthefallofthePrimovantor,leavingthebarrenislesseentoday.

However,theywereallmistaken.TherewasafourthislandofthePrimovantor,forgottentotimeand
hiddenbythecruelwavesoftheInantSea.

OnlythemostarcanetomesoftheCelestials,untouchedbylivinggazesformillennia,haveseen
thetruth:ThisislandwashometothelargestofthePrimavantorcolonycities,thecityof
CasaOmicidiandjewelofthePrimavantorempire.Evenfromtheremeresthintsintheseancient
texts,thelostwealthfromthiscityalonecouldfillatreasuryforthegreediestkingathousand
timesover,andboththeirtechnologyaswellasmagicalknowledgewoulddwarfthefinestexamples
oftherespectivecraftsasamountaindwarfsapebble.Unfortunately,thisgreatwealthwaslocked
inthegripofthewavesandwaslosttoallofMantica

Lost,thatis,untilarecentsunderingofthedistantseabedforcedtheforgottenislandtothe
surface.

Now,thecityhasbeenexposed,thecoralandbarnacleencrustedruinstoweringovertheother
threeislandsandwithwaterstillspillingfromwindowsandbalconiesevendaysafterthecitys
emergence.Treasurehuntersandmercenariesfromacrosstheknownworldhaveflockedhereto
seektheirfortune,alreadydiscoveringshardsofthestarthatfellandsmotethecity.Thesmiths
andmagiofthevariousnationsvaluethismetalevenbeyondgoldduetoitspropertiesofstrength
andmagicalconductivity(ColloquiallyreferredtoasStarmetal).

Auniquefeatureofthisstarmetalisthateverypiece,regardlessofsize,hasbothasilveredanda
blackenedside,andbothfacingsofferuniquemagicalproperties.Thereflectiveblackside
enhancesweaponstogivethemanedgeunmatchedbyanyotherblade,whilethesilveredside
createsatemporarymagicalwardonarmororskinthatcanrepeleventhestrongestofblows.
Additionally,thesefacingsseemtobefarmoremalleabletowieldersofpureorcorrupted
intentions,andasaresulthavebecomeknownasAbyssaliteorCelestium.However,constantuse
oftheseunstablematerialshavebeguntowarpminoryetnoticeablechangesintheindividuals
usingthem,andonecanonlyguessatwhatwouldoccurwithlongtermuseofthestarmetals.

CasaOmicidiisnowabattlefield,withathousandtinywarsandskirmishesfoughtinanequal
numberofstreets,alleys,andcourtyards.Inmanyplacesthewaterrunsredfrombloodspiltover
eventhesmallestofbaubles,andthewaterssurroundingthecityarefilledwithaconstantsupply
offlotsamandjetsamfromthedozensofnavalengagementsasthevariousfactionsfightforrights
tosalvageandlandontheisland.Indeed,manyofthevariousrulingprincesandkingsareusing
thisdiscoveryasanexcusetohindertheinterestsoftheiropponents,andfightsoverpolitical
documentsortoassassinateanenemyofficialarenotunheardof.

Worseyet,notallofthebloodhasbeenspiltbynewcomerstothecity:Inspectionhasfoundthe
enormousunbreakablemetalstarinthecenterofthecityishollow,andtheinteriorwascoveredin

seesasteadyinfluxofnewtreasureseekers,attemptingtobettertheirownfortuneshoweverthey

ThisrulesupplementisforKoW,andisbasedoffofthatruleset.Anychangesarenotedbelow.

CreatingtheWarband:
First,pickaWarband.EachwarbandhasaselectionofModelstheymaypickfrom.Usuallygames
startwith50gold(gp)persidetopurchaseModels,Equipment,andArtifacts(Unlessotherwise
agreeduponbyyourgrouporopponent).Anyunusedgoldmaybesavedtospendafterthe
scenario(SeeAftermath:EquipmentforgeneralEquipmentandtheirprices)

EachWarbandmustselectasingleModeltoupgradetoaHero(Thiscanbeamodelwiththe
LargeorCavalryrules,butnottheBeastspecialrule).TheHerohas+1Toughness(Toughness,or
To,replacesKoWsNerve),isInspiring,has+1toanysinglestat(IncludinganotherToughness
bonusifyoudlike),andcosts10moregpthanthelistedcostisforthattypeofModel.Inaddition,
theystartwith15Experience,althoughcannotpickSkillsforthisstartingExperience.Thisinitial
HeroisalsoconsideredyourLeader,andgrantscertainbonuseswhileheisstillalive.Other
modelsmaybecomeHeroesthroughexperienceorifyouroriginalHeroisslain.Yourheroesare
usuallymuchtougherandmorepowerfulthanothermodelsinyourWarband,butcansetyouata
strongdisadvantageiftheyarekilled.

AWarbandmayhaveuptoonemodelwiththeLargespecialruleandonemodelwiththeCavalry
specialruleperatleast50gpinvalueoftheoverallwarband(So60gpwouldbe2Largeand2
Cavalry,150gpwouldbe3Largeand3Cavalry,270gpwouldbe6Largeand6Cavalry,etc).Ifyou
haveamodelwithboththeLargeandCavalryspecialrules,itcountsasbothfordetermininghow
manyLargeandCavalrymodelsyoumayinclude.

MeleeandRangedcannotbeincreasedbeyonda3+byanymeans,andDefcannotbeincreased

ChangestoKoWrules:
Movement:
AllmodelscountashavingtheIndividualRule,butthisdoesnotconfertheToHitpenaltyfor
shooting.EssentiallytheyhaveNimbleandnoflankstospeakof.However,Largecreaturesand
CavalrydonotgaintheNimbleconferredbytheIndividualspecialrule.(Sotheymustmoveina

Starmetal:
DuringtheAftermathportionafterascenario,warbandswillusuallyacquiresomequantityof
starmetal.Thiscaneitherbesoldattheindicatedprices(Seeabove),oranynumberofmodelscan
electbeforedeploymenttouseupto5piecesofstarmetaleach.Eachpieceusedinthiswayis
deductedfromthenumberofstarmetalofthewarband.Starmetalcanbeusedineitherits
AbyssaliteoritsCelestiumform,andamodelcanonlyuseonetypeofstarmetal(Sotheycannot
useCelestiumandAbyssaliteatthesametime).AnystarmetalusedasAbyssaliteorCelestiumis
discardedattheendofthescenario,whetherornottheusingmodelpassedanyStunnedchecks.

EachpieceofAbyssaliteadds1damagetoanysuccessfuldamagecausedinMelee.Thebonus
foreachpiececanonlybeusedonce(Soifyouhad4pieces,youcouldapply4extradamageto
onehit,2damageto2attacks,1damageto4attacks,etc).However,evenifyouhavealready
usedallthebonusdamageforthestarmetalforthegame,themodelstillrollsforStunned.Each
pieceofCelestiumprevents1damageoverthecourseoftheentirescenario(Andagain,youcan
electtoapplythisalltoasinglegroupofdamage,orpreventdamagefromseveralattacks),andany
subsequentdamageappliesasnormalwithoutreduction.Again,evenifyouhavealreadyreduced

Atthestartofaplayersturn,eachmodelusinganynumberofstarmetalpiecesmustroll1d6.If
theyrollabovethenumberofstarmetalpiecestheyareusing,theymayactasnormalthisturn.If
theyrollequaltoorlessthanthenumberofpieces,thentheyareStunnedbytheforceofthe
starmetalshardsandcannotperformanyactionsofanykindthisturn(IfthemodelwasFallen,
theystillstandupattheendoftheirturn).Arollof1alwaysfails,andarollof6alwayspassesfor
theStunnedcheck.

Neutralwarbandsgetnoinitialbonusorpenaltywhenusingstarmetals.WarbandswithEvil
alignmentget+1ontheirStunnedcheckwhenusingAbyssalite,and1whenusingCelestium.
Goodwarbandsget+1ontheStunnedrollsforCelestiumand1forAbyssalite.Ifasinglemodelis
using5piecesofstarmetalandpassesatleastoneStunnedcheckduringthegame,theygainthe
skillAttunedtoAbyssalite/Celestium,asperwhichevertypeofstarmetaltheywereusing,during
theAftermathofthescenario.Attuninggivesanadditional+1bonuswhenattemptingtopassa
Stunnedcheckwiththattypeofstarmetal.IfamodelisAttunedtoonetypeofStarmetalandlater
passesaStunnedcheckfor5piecesoftheothertype,theylosetheAttunementwiththeinitial
typeandgainAttunementwiththestarmetaltypetheyjustpassedthecheckfor.
