Tenegen experiences
Summarised experiences from our point of view (P8)
After having fulfilled all the tasks of the TC01, TC03 and TC04 modules the participating teachers of our school are
satisfied with the content of the Tenegen project and they will profit from their studies, experiences. They discovered
a world far beyond the horizon of most of the teachers in the public education. Probably it can be stated not only
concerning the Hungarian situation, but all over the World.
Despite of the continuous time pressure, precipitation and the high performance criterion (they suffered from), at
near end of the project they might be and they are happy that they had joined the Tenegen project as participants
one year before. Hopefully their colleagues will also make profit of their future activities.
The hearty welcome of the project by the students was not surprising; notwithstanding it will be a very important
motivation factor for the future activities of the participants and maybe other teachers. It is evident, that the support
from the most important target group is essential.

Activities
Tenegen in English
The English version of TC01 is reachable, visit http://tenegen.eu/course. All partners are invited to share their
experiences with European partners. The first participants are from DEKRA, DE. Best wishes to every participant for
the successful completion and continuation of the Tenegen project in English.

News
One can never step into the same river twice
According to the Greek philosopher of Ephesus, Heraclitus 'One can never step into the same river twice'. Neither
students nor teachers can step twice into the same school nowadays. As an example, let us consider the partner
P8 Bottyán School.
Recalling the events of the last some years; we can set down the fact of continuous changes.
The Bottyán School has undergone a total reconstruction of the school building.
Meanwhile new training programs were started in the vocational education and training.
Last year the maintainer of the school changed. Formerly the school was maintained by the Komárom-Esztergom
County Authority; from last summer maintainer of the school is the Local Authority of City Esztergom.

Near all the documents and regulations of the school were refreshed.
The position of the Bottyán School is going to change. It is discussed in the Events in details.

Events
The history repeats itself
Exactly ten years before, in 2000, our school was merged with the J. K. Hell Politechnical Secondary School,
Esztergom-Kertváros. The history repeats itself.
In some days the name of the P8 partner school, ‘Bottyán János Vocational Secondary School’ will be changed to
'Szent Imre Primary School, Grammar School and Vocational Secondary School’, in short 'Szent Imre School’. Our
freshly renovated school building will also house the integrated Szent István Gimnázium (which at the moment is
functioning in the former Hell school building). A primary school, namely the Petıfi Sándor Általános Iskola, will
also be integrated, but will function in its present school building.
The revised pedagogical program mostly will comprise the values and educational offers of the previous schools.
Nevertheless, concerning the Bottyán School, the number of entrants is cut and no further admission is possible in
the electric-electronics professional group. The present students in the electric-electronics professional group and
also the students who repeat the first class will follow their studies in our school.
Recently the maintainer decided on the nomination of the headmaster of the merged school (from 1 August, 2010),
but decision was not taken yet on the school management, the teaching staff and the personnel. Many teachers are
in uncertain position at the moment. As for the position of the Petıfi Sándor Általános Iskola, the integration will
only change the name of the school and it will be directly managed by a subordinate deputy headmaster instead of
a headmaster.
It is firm intention of the school management to follow up success of the Tenegen project. Our enthusiastic
participants also are capable to make profit of their studies in their future pedagogical practice. There is also a
hopeful possibility to share their results with other interested colleagues.
