Facing History Reflection

1. Describe the Facing History activity.

The facing history activity was a video talking about gay slurs and how people from the
LGBT community feel when others use them.

2. What did you notice during this activity?

During the activity I noticed that discrimination against gay people is very similar to
discrimination to women, black and latino people.

3. How did the activity feel?

The facing history activity made me happy because it is good that we are
acknowledging this problem and trying to fix it.

4. What did you learn?

I learned that in the past doctors not part of the LGBT community would let gay people
die instead of helping them when they were sick.

5. What did you contribute?

I contributed in the advisory discussion by giving meaningful comments on where I
stand on this topic.

6. What are left wondering about?

I was left wondering why isn't discrimination against gay people as big of a problem than
discrimination against women, black and latino people?
