Exploratory Spanish

Weekly Homework

1. Study your vocabulary words for weekly quiz (I recommend making

flash cards).

2. Watch a Spanish Language Program (one episode).

Determine your group:
Grupo Uno - New learners (little to no previous Spanish).
Grupo Dos - Studied Spanish last semester and have learned verb
conjugation in present tense.
Hispanohablantes - Native speakers who are being introduced to
literacy (learning reading and writing skills).
Directions:
1. First, listen with Spanish audio and English subtitles.
2. Review with Spanish subtitles to learn words.
3. Practice listening to pronunciation, and learn new vocabulary words.
4. Write down 10 new words you heard and what they mean in English.

*Grupo Dos: Write a brief summary of what happened in the program

you watched (1-3 sentences).
a. Try to write it Spanish, if you can. Try at least one sentence
in Spanish - even if it is basic. You can use all present tense if you want to.
b. Extra challenge (optional): You can try to write in past tense.
(If you can get a copy, I recommend using the book 501 Spanish Verbs to look
up past tense verbs. This book is a great resource to have if you plan to continue
studying Spanish in High School/College.)

*Hispanohablantes: Write a brief summary of what happened in the

program you watched.
Try to write it Spanish. You can just sound it out - dont worry
about spelling until we have learned more literacy skills (reading and writing in
Spanish).

*Grupo Dos and Hispanohablantes* : Please try to challenge yourselves! There are no wrong
answers. Just show me that you are giving an honest effort to improve your fluency skills.

Shows on Netflix: ***Get permission from you parents first!***

Other options:
Any other early learning program in Spanish from another media provider.
There are many early learning videos for kids on youtube. *Dont forget to get your
parents permission first!*
