by a uniform air gap of 2 mm. The temperature of air inside the room is20 and
the ambient air temperature is 30 . Assume heat transfer coefficient between the
surrounding and glass pane is 23.26 W/m2K, and thermal conductivity of air and
glass are as = 0.02 WmK and = 0.75 WmK. Determine the heat
leakage into the room per unite area of the door. Also determine the temperature at
the inner surface of the glass.
(OR)
(b) (i) Aluminum circumferential fins of 1 mm thickness are soldered to 2.5 cm OD pipe. (8)
Other given data are as follows: fin length = 1.5 mm, pipe wall temperature = 1000C,
ambient temperature = 250C, convective heat transfer coefficient = 65 W/m2K.
Calculate the heat loss per fin.
