THE OPEN UNIVERSITY OF TANZANIA
Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences in Collaboration with the Open University
of Tanzania invites applications for admission into its Master of Public Health by Distance
Learning under the School of Public Health and Social Sciences for the 2017/2018 Academic
Year.
The programme aims to give opportunities to in-service personnel who cannot enroll for the
MPH Regular (full-time) or Executive (evening) programme.
(a) Lectures will be conducted through distance learning systems using well established e-
Learning management System of Open University of Tanzania (OUT) and the School of
Public Health and Social Sciences at MUHAS.
(b) Students may wish to meet the costs of the entire programme or of modules depending
on their choice because the cost of the entire MPH by distance Learning Programme is
subdivided into modules.
(c) Training does not interfere with the daily activities of the candidates and therefore their
employment is not in jeopardy.
Programme Duration: Four (4) semesters with maximum tenure of six semesters (Maximum
3years)
i. A graduate from any recognized University in health related fields of study that include
but not limited to medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, nursing, radiology, laboratory sciences,
midwifery, sociology, anthropology, health statistics, health service administration,
environmental health sciences, demography, biology, food science, epidemiology and
health information sciences.
ii. Applicants must have scored at least a GPA of 2.7 in their undergraduate degrees
