Activities:

Set Induction (Game)


1. Teacher introduces herself/himself and tells the class where he/she lives.
2. Pupils are chosen at random to do the same.

3. Pupils listen to a dialogue. (recorded)


4. While listening for the second time, pupils match the names to the place they live.
5. Pupils exchange their worksheet and check the answers together.
6. Pupils read sentence pattern from the dialogue.
eg. Pupil A : Hello, Im Arjan.
I live in Taman Shah.
Where do you live?
Pupil B : Im Harith.
I live in Taman Limau.
7. In pairs, pupils practice the sentence pattern.
8. Pupils have to replace the name and place with their own details.
9. A few pairs are chosen to present.

Activities:

Set Induction
1. Each group is given a picture jigsaw.
2. Pupils have to solve the puzzle and guess the types of houses.

3. Pupils read a text with guidance.(TB: 10)


4. Pupils say aloud words highlighted in blue.
5. Pupils do action phonics for the sh sound.
6. Pupils segment and blend the sh words
eg : shell = sh e- l l fish = f-i-sh
7. Pupils read the text again.
8. Pupils answer simple comprehension questions orally.
e.g: Who lives in a bungalow?
Who lives in a terraced house?
Pupils are also shown pictures of the types of houses.
9. Pupils read and match sentence to pictures.(AB page 10)
10. Read and match with pictures of types of houses with guidance.(Remedial)

1. Pupils at random choose phrases strip.


2. Pupils arrange the phrases accordingly.
eg. Name, house number, housing area, postcode & state

3. Pupils answer simple questions based on the address.


4. Pupils see another example of address without proper punctuation and
capitalisation.
5. Pupils do comparison with guidance.
6. Pupils are given a worksheet with punctuation errors.
7. In pairs, pupils circle the errors.
8. Pupils check answers.
9. Pupils will underline the errors and rewrite the letter.
10. Pupils identify and underline the errors with guidance and rewrite the
letter. (Average)
11. Pupils identify and underline the errors with guidance. (Remedial)
