We will begin a unit on Famous
Black Americans in celebration of
Black History Month. We will learn
about the important contributions You may send in a check written out to
to our country and discover some
of the many interesting inven-
tions/products that have been by
created by African Americans,
particularly in the state of Ala-
bama. Students will choose a fa-
mous person to research and cre-
ate a Power Point Report from
what they learned. We will share
our information with the class. We
will also read several
bibliography stories and
watch videos about
each person.
*Read 20 minutes each night
and complete one page
in Math HW packet.
Monday-Read weekly story.
Wednesday-Study Vocabulary
words/cards.
Thursday-Study for Reading

A Note from Mrs. Danley...
Dear Parents,
Progress Report grades will come home on Monday this week in Friday Folders.
We are making great progress each day in second grade. Please continue to read
with or listen to your child read for at least 20 minutes each night. We will contin-
ue to work on fluency and comprehension skills at school each
day. We are working hard to prepare for 3rd grade.
Your child will be taking the OLSAT test on February 15 and
16th next week. Please help your child get
some good rest on the night before the test
as well as eat a good breakfast in order to
their best. Thanks! Mrs. Danley :)
