PROF ICIENCY B ASED CURRIC ULUM TEAM - FEBRUARY 2014-PRESENT
Serve as a representative for the elementary/middle school on a proficiency based curriculum team.
This team meets several times throughout the year to discuss, brainstorm, and generate a set of
rubrics to assess cross curricular standards. The team consists of elementary, middle, and high school
teachers as well as three administrators.

Serve as a representative for the middle school team on a school management team consisting of 7
other members and one school administrator. Various school topics are discussed and solutions to
issues and problems are developed. Topics discussed include but are not limited to scheduling,
behavior, and school morale.

ASSI STME NTS STUDY - AUGUST 2013- PRESEN T


Applied for a grant in early 2013 for participation in the study and was accepted in May 2013.
ASSISTments is a web-based program created at the Worcester Polytechnic Institute. The Department
of Education is doing a research study on its effectiveness in helping to improve students overall math
skills and test scores. I am currently implementing the program in 8th grade Algebra 1 classes. The
program will be integrated in the 7th grade math curriculum in the 2015 school year. I am required to
write my own problems and input them into the program as well as use common core aligned
problems that already exist within the program. The interpretation and analyzation of the web-based
assessments is a key component.

Representative for grades 7 and 8 math. Worked in a small group with a representative from each
grade span as well as an administrator. Math curriculum used across grade spans was discussed as
well as the ways in which it aligned to common core.
