Materials: Strips of cartolina, written with sentences, pictures

III. Procedure
A. Activity. Review them what is a sentence. Let them give
their own examples.
B. Analysis: ( Show pictures and strips of cartolina written with
sentences). Have the pupils read the following sentences that tell
about each picture.
1. Athena sweeps the yard.
2. Brigette waters the plants.
3. Rose cultivates the soil
4. Kuya Anton carries the dry leaves to the compost pit.
5. Mang Jose puts organic fertilizers to the plants.
Ask: In the first sentence, who sweeps the floor?( Underline the
name and what she does).Do it up to the last number. Now, what
do you call the part of a sentence that tells the doer of the action?
How about the action done?
C. Abstraction: What are the parts of a sentence? What is a
subject? How about a predicate? ( A sentence has two parts. They
are the doer of the action which is the subject and the action done
or the predicate.
D.Application: Group them into three. Give each group 3
pictures. Ask them to think a sentence that will fit the idea shown
in the picture. ( Let them present their outputs).

IV.Evaluation
Copy the following sentences. Encircle the subject and
underline the predicate.
1. My family lives in a small barrio.
2.Our parents teach us how to live simply.
3. My mother cooks delicious food.
4. My brother helps my father in the garden.
5. Our teacher is Mrs. Flores

V. Construct 5 simple sentences. Write it on a sheet of paper.
