a ABOUT ALAGA KA ALAGA KA (ALay sa Ginahawan At KAlusugan) is Health Futures Foundation, Inc's (HF) banner project, which aims to improve access to basic health services in the poorest and most marginalized commuities by building barangay health stations (BHS), enhancing the competencies of health workers, and initiating community-based health and wellness program (CBHWP) -acatalyst for a better quality of life and well-being of the community. It can d oa lot of things! ‘When we talk about trees, we often talk about the environment, the climate change, how it absorbs carbon dioxide and produce fresh air. Well, we are right to talk about it. One ‘ree can doa marvelous job of absorbing 48 pounds of excess CO2.a year and can sequester 1 ton of ©02 by the time it reaches 40 years old! But here is the thing: when you plant one tree you are not just fighting global ‘warming-you are doing a lot more good stuff. Here are just some of the good things trees can do: + Trees provide habitat for our wildlife + Trees conserve eneray + Trees provide food and nutrition + Trees create economic opportunities + Trees improves concentration + Trees relinquish good vibes ‘Trees of Wellness aims to deliver all these wonderful things that trees can do to help disadvantaged and dispossessed areas in the Philippines. 2,000 native medicinal, flowering, and fruit bearing trees will be planted in and around our 13 Alaga Ka communities all over the country. ‘Trees of wellness will be a source of: 1, Well-being to the communities. . TCANO ATREE OF WELLNESS This will be planted in the vicinity of the Alaga Ka BHS, along the road of the barangay, open spaces in, the community, and other strategic areas in the barangay. Php 25,000.00 ORCHARDS OF WELLNESS A cluster of 20 fruit bearing trees in the community to provide opportunities for additional support for the daily sustenance of the community. Php 50,000.00 FORESTS OF WELLNESS A hundred native and medicinal trees on denuded mountain, watershed, and mangrove areas . This will aid in the reforestation efforts in our communities all over the Philippines and help offset the negative effects of climate change we are faced with today. Php150,000.00
