ASSIGNMENT OBJECTIVE:

This assignment is intended to test your knowledge on the overall functions of project risk
management such as planning and controlling phase that includes identifying the risk factors
and its evaluation methods. It is fundamental to be knowledgeable in all aspects of project
management properly to develop a sense of priority in addressing the various risks associated
with it throughout its life cycle.

INSTRUCTIONS:
You are required to provide TWO reports based on the assignment objectives. It is acceptable
to use the opinions and judgments of project professionals to support your work.

QUESTION 1

You have been appointed as a project risk manager in a medium scale project on systems
development. Identify and discuss the step in preparing a risk matrix within the context of project
risk management. Provide the illustrative examples of risk matrix that addresses risk item in the
project accordingly.

QUESTION 2

You are appointed as a project manager for large-scale software development project. You
have to produce a comprehensive project plan, and it has to refer to all the elements concerning
the planning and control of the project. Illustrate with appropriate example and it should contain
the nine elements as per stated below:

a) Project Overview;
b) A statement of objectives;
c) A description of the technical and managerial approaches to the work;
d) All contractual agreements;
e) Schedule of activities;
f) Project budget/resource requirements;
g) Personnel requirements;
h) Risk management;
i) Project evaluation methods.

Your assignment should be typed on A4 paper using 12-point Times New Roman and

Your assignment should NOT exceed 3000 words, not including appendix and reference.
Your must provide references. References should use the American Psychological
Association (APA) format.
References should include the latest journal/book publication (year 2009 and onwards).
You are to submit a softcopy of your assignment via email. You must receive
acknowledgement email from your facilitator to confirm submission.
