INSTRUCTIONAL SOFTWARE
Procedure:
Review a movie (4:47) on the voting process from www.Brainpop.com as a warm up to this
lesson, and some background information on how citizens choose their leaders in Canada.
Make a journal entry on what they found most interesting about the movie and the voting
process.
Get into pairs and discuss their feedback with each other on the movie, and add to their
notes.
Share their views in a whole group, teacher-led discussion where students will present their
views and receive corrections or revisions.
Create a graphic organizer comparing and contrasting any similarities and difference in the
voting process in Canada and in America. (students will use previous notes on the American
voting process to help them in completing this task)
Students will then take an individual assessment that has already been constructed by the
teacher from BrainPOP.
