AFTER THE PARTY

MAY BE THE MENZINGERS
BEST RECORD YET

The Menzingers have just released

After the Party, and the album again
demonstrates that this Philly-based
band is ready for broader national
exposure, while still embracing its core
Pennsylvania-punk sound.
Band members Tom May (guitar/
vocals), Joe Godino (drums), and Eric
Keen (bass) of Bob and the Sagets joined
fellow Scranton punker Greg Barnett
(guitar/vocals) of Kos Mos to create the
Menzingers in the early 2000s.
Its a small town, but its not that
small, and theres a thriving music
scene there, said May of the bands
Scranton roots.
A demo tape distributed in 2006 put
them on the musical map, and led to
the prophetically-titled A Lesson in
the Abuse of Information Technology
under the Go-Kart Records label.
We recorded that one in New York
City before we were old enough to
drink, recalls May. We spent the whole
time trying to get one of the engineers
to buy us 40s.

Bucks County native Stephen

Turbyfill was raised in the family
business of home remodeling by
his grandfather, C.W. Schrenk.
From the age of 13, Turbyfill gained
his greatest work experience of the
life as a laborer turned carpenter on
the rough framing crew building
new homes for his grandfathers
company. This was the basic building
block of skill sets that Steven needed
to eventually begin his own home
remodeling company at the age
of 26. In 2000, Stephen became
the founder and owner of Freedom
