BAPTISM

"Baptism" is a sacrament of
Christian initiation that gives
our souls the new life of
sanctifying grace by which we
become children of GOD, members of
the Church, and heirs of heaven.

THE EFFECTS OF BAPTISM:


1. Baptism takes away the original sin and
all actual sins, together with all the
punishment due to them.
2. It incorporates us into Christ and his
Church.
3. It confers on us the baptismal character
and the right to heaven.
4. Door to the other sacrament.
5. And the imprinting on the soul of an
indelible spiritual sign the character,
which consecrates the baptized person
for Christian worship. Because of this
character, baptism cannot be repeated.

CONFIRMATION

"Confirmation" is a sacrament of
Christian initiation through
which the Holy Spirit endows the
baptized person with special
strength, conforms him more
perfectly to Christ, and blinds him
more intimately to the Church,
obliging him more strictly to
spread and defend the faith both
by words and by deeds as a true
witness of Christ.

THE EFFECTS OF CONFIRMATION:


1. Confirmation increase sanctifying
grace.
2. Confers actual graces and a special
sacramental grace.
3. Imprints a lasting character on the
soul.
4. An increase and deepening of
baptismal grace.
5. An deepening if one`s roots in the
divine affliction, which makes one cry
"Abba Father! ".

CONFESSION

"Confession" is a sacrament in
which sinners obtain from GOD
the forgiveness of sins
committed after baptism
through the absolution of the
priest, and achieve reconciliation
with the Church they have wounded by
singing.

THE EFFECTS OF CONFESSION:


1. The restoration or increase of
sanctifying grace.
2. The forgiveness of all sins.
3. The remission of the eternal
punishment due to mortal sin, and at least
part of the temporal punishment
remaining to be paid after the forgiveness
of sins.
4. Reconciliation with the Church whom
we have harmed by our sins.
5. The help to avoid sin in the future.

HOLY EUCHARIST

"Holy Eucharist" is a
sacrament which really, truly,
soul, and divinity of our Lord
Jesus Christ under the
appearances of bread and
wine.
THE EFFECTS OF HOLY EUCHARIST:
1. The restoration or increase of
sanctifying grace.
2. The forgiveness of sins.
3. The remission of the eternal
punishment.
4. The remission of temporal punishment
due to our sins.
5. We receive the body and blood of
Christ.

HOLY ORDERS
"Holy Orders" is a sacrament
through which men are marked
with an indelible character and
constituted sacred ministers-
bishops, priests, and deacons-to
teach, sanctify, and govern the
faithful in the person of Christ
the Head.

THE EFFECTS OF HOLY ORDERS:


1. An increase of sanctifying grace
2. Sacramental grace, through which the
priest receives God`s constant help in his
sacred ministry.
3. A lasting indelible character, which is a
special sharing in the priesthood of Christ
and which gives the priest special
supernatural powers.
MATRIMONY

"Matrimony" is a sacrament which


establishes and indissoluble union
between a baptized man and a
baptized woman and gives them
the grace to love each other in a
holy way and to educate their
children in a Christian manner.

THE EFFECTS OF MATRIMONY:


1. An increase of sanctifying grace.
2. The indissoluble bond of marriage.
3. The special help of GOD for husband
and wife to love each other faithfully, to
bear with each other`s faults, to bring up
their children properly, and to cooperate in
the sanctification of other souls, especially
those other members of their household
and other families with whom they have
close ties of friendship.
4. They are union in a holy way.
5. They will never separate only by
death.

ANOINTING OF THE SICK

"Anointing of the sick" is the


sacrament which gives health and
strength to the soul and
sometimes to the body when we
are dangerously ill.

THE EFFECTS OF ANOINTING OF THE


SICK:
1. An increase of sanctifying grace, or at
times the restoration of the life of grace.
2. The forgiveness of venial sins and even
mortal sins if the repentant sick person is
unable to confess them.
3. Remission of the temporal punishment
still due for unremitted sins.
4. Strength to suffer sickness with
patience and resists temptations.
5. Recovery of bodily health when it is
good for the soul.
