A Kingdom Classified

OBJECTIVE: Create a project about your chosen kingdom and the organisms that
belong there. This project must show your understanding of what kingdoms are and how
an organism is classified according to its specific characteristics.

Begin by choosing one of the following formats:

Graphic Organizer - Make a graphic organizer or foldable that explains to the students your
kingdom in complete detail. Must have proper copies that can be distributed to your classmates

Poem - Create a poem that uses your literary skills to explain to the students your kingdom in
complete detail. You will receive extra points if the poem rhymes.

Skit - Write a script and perform a skit that describes how some scientists discover an organism
and decide the kingdom it belongs to based on its characteristics.

Short Story - Create a poem that uses your literary skills to explain to the students your kingdom
in complete detail. You will receive extra points if the poem rhymes.

Poster - Create a poster in the format of a job posting for an organism that should work for your
specific kingdom. Make sure to include the desired characteristics or skills need for that
kingdom and any past organisms that have met the requirements.

Google Slides - Create a google slide presentation that illustrates your kingdom using images
that represent the kingdom and very specific text that provides detailed information about your
selected kingdom.

Video or Animation Create a video that describes your kingdom as an exotic destination site.
Make sure to mention the types of amenities you would find and use examples of organisms
that you may see during your trip.

Quizziz, Quizlet or Kahoot - Create an interactive game that engages your classmates by
turning their learning experience into a game that assesses their knowledge of the kingdoms.
This game must include quality questions and images.

EVERY PRESENTATION MUST CONTAIN THE FOLLOWING!

1. Domain and Kingdom A successful presentation will note if the organisms that belong to
that kingdom are prokaryotic or eukaryotic.

2. Number of Cells You will need to make sure to include information about whether or not
organisms belonging to your kingdom are unicellular, multicellular or both.

3. Mode of Reproduction Use your knowledge of your kingdom to describe whether or not
organisms that belong to your kingdom reproduce sexually or asexually.

4. Feeding Type And last but not least your presentation must indicate if an organism that
belongs to your kingdom is autotrophic or heterotrophic.

5. PICTURE & PRESENTATION QUALITY - Whichever format you choose; you must have a
picture to accompany your project. Pay close attention to your rubric!!!

This presentation must be presented with proper understanding of the kingdom and compliance
with the time limit of five minutes. Students will also gain or lose points on the basis of how well
rehearsed, produced and planned out their presentation was.
