Career Exploration With Career Clusters

Out of the many career cluster options, my top three chosen for me were Agriculture/Food/Natural
Resources, Architecture and Construction, and finally, Art/ Audio and/or Visual
Technologies/Communications.

Out of those clusters, heres what I would apply for, the training/educating it takes to apply to that career,
and postsecondary plans for each career!

Agriculture, Food, Natural Resources - Animal Breeder

-There isnt much that goes into being an animal breeder. A high school diploma is all that is needed, as
well as basic knowledge of the animal you are breeding (this can be done through extensive research and
talking to more experienced breeders).
-Training may include handling the animal, care (such as feed, water, environment etc.), basic first aid
training/being able to acknowledge any issues if they arise, and training the animal to be friendly and
easily handled. (This all varies depending on the species being bred.)

-Postsecondary plans are not necessarily needed, however could be useful financially as being a breeder
might not always work out as a sole source of income. This is because its up to the breeder to decide on
the price of their animal, so if the market isnt doing so well, they may have to fluctuate their prices to sell
their animals.

Architecture and Construction - Interior Designer

-A high school diploma and bachelor's degree in interior design is required education.
-Training is covered in college, to ensure the student has vast knowledge before being put to work with a
client.

-Postsecondary plans would be applying to colleges or universities with good interior design programs, as
well as possibly some clubs that could further educate a student.

Art, Audio/Visual, Technology and Communications - Graphic Designer

-A high school diploma (or alternative equivalent) and bachelors degree in art or design are the required
education.
-Most training occurs during college, such as social/communication skills.
-Postsecondary plans would consist of applying to college to achieve a bachelors in either art or design.
Special classes may be taken to specify the field in which they would like to be a graphic designer.
