CHASE REPORT

JUNE 21, 2010

Peter Creedon

I awoke to the sound of thunder during the wee hours of the 21st.
A look at the radar confirmed my suspicions. There was a group of
cells in Warren County near the Saint Charles County line. I
headed out towards where they were located. With my luck, they
would move into my position.
Southwestern Saint Charles County has a very poor road network.
Getting to them was going to be a hard task. I saw the towers and
an occasional flash of lightning. These were disappointing, and I
hoped that this wouldnt be the only action during the day. There
was other action, but it was in Illinois. I found Highway T and
followed that north to Foristell, where I could get onto 70.
The rain fell fast and heavy under these small cells. They were
collapsing and beginning to dissipate, as the environment was
becoming too stable for them. A small fragment of these cells
remained and headed east across the river, but that wasnt going
to happen for me.
Lesson Learned: Dont chase something that isnt worth chasing.
