THE WASTE MATERIAL MANAGEMENT HUB

(RE-USE OF WASTE MATERIALS)


INTRODUCTION

The level of achievement of city can be viewed from its architectural viewed from
its architectural coordination between the built environment and open space. These
open spaces are turning into dumping site where wastes are piled up. This has
increased with the stupendous rise in the level of garbage production in urban
India. The focus of this architectural initiative is to handle the dumping of wastes
across a neighborhood

An up cycling for the city to reduce burden of the waste generated by itself. The
project will showcase the trash and support the economically weaker section to
earn the better lifestyle . A plaza combined with workshop which helps to spread
the necessity of up cycling for the environment as well as promote public
participation through tourism

PRESENT SCENARIO
Urban India generates 188500 tons of waste per day.
About 10 percent of the collected MSW is openly burnt or is caught in
landfill fires
There is an increase of 50 percent of garbage generation within a span of 10
years
More than 91 percent of the MSW collected formally is land filled on open
lands
By 2041 urban India is estimated to generate 160.96 million tons per year
waste

NEED OF THE PROJECT


As the problem of garbage is a grave issue which needs immediate
attention
There are many efforts taken by many individuals but all scattered
at a personal level
This project is an effort to formulate a combined solution for the
problem from an architecture perspective

AIM OF THE PROJECT


To design a pavilion that stimulates the practice of re-using waste
with the help of the socially background community, mutually
benefiting both socially and environmentally
To design waste material management institution
To design waste material management research centers

OBECTIVIES
To design a space which is entirely built of re-used and scrap
materials in order to promote the cause of the center
To study the current waste flow in city and channelize the waste of
a neighborhood
To create the awareness among the general public as to how they
can incorporate the re-use life style in their day to day life
To give an fun learning experience by engaging the visitors in
different activities level
To design a space for students learn about waste material
management

SCOPE
To make an aesthetically appealing out of waste material
To provide the activities for user group with the awareness
To provide employment to the social backward community
To channelize the waste recycling industries instead of land fills
To provide work shop to learning about recycle materials for
public people
To provide museum place to display the recycle work
To provide residential place for workers
Dumping yard in high rise structure

LIMITATIONS
Structure will not go beyond the height of 2 stories because of the
unconventional construction materials
There is multiple entries and exists to the site which would need
more security
