The aim of the session is to consider a possible situation and decide in your group what course
of action you would take and whether this is currently implemented in your centre.

1. A student has not done homework for the previous 3 weeks.

2. Two students talk constantly in their L1 during the lesson. Their continuous assessment
results do not seem to be affected and in all other respects they are model students.

4. A student seems distracted during reading / writing activities. S/he enjoys speaking and
group work, but doesnt settle when s/he is working individually at table.

5. A few students constantly arrive 5 /10 minutes late and disrupt the rest of the class when
coming in.

6. A student is always forgetting to bring back his/her books and folder. S/he wont be able
to do the activities from the workbook.

7. A student is constantly disrupting the lesson and really needs to be talked to by a
coordinator. You have given him/her 3 chances to improve her behaviour but s/he has not
responded and the coordinator isnt here today. What can you do with him/her for the
rest of the class?

8. One student seems a bit of a loner. Other students are reluctant to do pair/ group work
with him/her. S/he doesnt seem to mix with others during breaks. S/he hasnt yet
complained about the way the other students relate to him/her (or dont), but the parents
have indicated their concerns.
