Introduction


Purpose of RLO
This course familiarizes learns with the concepts surrounding five different
concussion assessment tools that can be used by medical professionals

Terminal Objective of the Unit in which the RLO will be presented


The learner will compare and contrast 3 concussion assessment tools that
could potentially be used by medical professionals.

Enabling objectives for the RLO


Discuss the importance of obtaining a pre-participation baseline score for
assessment purposes.
Identify at least 5 different items that can be examined while performing a
concussion assessment.
List at least two key concepts for each assessment tool.

Target Audience
75% of these individuals have a higher education
The average income is about $100,000 per household so this population
has a relatively stable income
These individuals potentially possess previous experiences with
concussions
These learners should be highly motivated to gain more knowledge in
regards to concussions due to the prevalence of this injury in
sports. Based on personal connections, they will possess a strong desire
to monitor wellbeing of the student-athlete(s).

Scenario
Learners should have basic concepts regarding concussions, including
signs and symptoms of a concussion to understand the presentation.
This RLO will be presented in the second of six modules.
This RLO is self-paced and slightly self-directed. The learners can choose
the order in which learn about each assessment tool; however, the will not
be able to see the summary or final quiz until each tool is complete.

Please perform this RLO twice: once attempting to get all answers correct, and
once attempting to get all answers incorrect.
